0.13.0
- Your Apple identity can live in 1Password.
omdrop identity 1password importmoves the Apple AirDrop identity off disk into a 1Password item. Omdrop fetches it when you turn it on, keeps it in the kernel's memory for 12 hours by default (identity_cache_hours, 1 to 24, never more than 24 hours after the fetch), and receives and sends without asking again in that time. If 1Password is missing, locked, or you dismiss its prompt, that window uses the self-signed identity and a notification says so.omdrop identity lockturns Omdrop off and clears the cached copy (#18, #19). See the README for setup, including where an Apple-issued identity comes from. - A stalled connection no longer blocks receiving. The receiver ran each TLS handshake on a single thread with no time limit, so one sender that dropped off mid-handshake left the computer invisible for the rest of the window. Each handshake now runs on its own connection's thread with a 30-second limit.
- Pins driver
brcmfmac-awdl-dkms0.7.0 (brentkearney/omdrop-awdl#21), whose sender and wake advert read the identity cached from 1Password; runomdrop install-driverto update an installed 0.6.4.
0.12.2
- A send now wakes the iPhone while it waits. Omdrop announces this computer over Bluetooth while it waits for the recipient to start listening, so an iPhone that was not already listening can receive without opening a share sheet (#16). This also works without an Apple ID identity, for recipients set to Everyone. Pins driver
brcmfmac-awdl-dkms0.6.4 (brentkearney/omdrop-awdl#19); runomdrop install-driverto update an installed 0.6.3.
0.12.1
- The driver build now installs the kernel headers. On a machine without
linux-asahi-headers, DKMS built nothing, the stock Wi-Fi driver stayed loaded, andawdl0could not be created (#17). Pins driverbrcmfmac-awdl-dkms0.6.3-2, which makes the headers a dependency. If you installed driver 0.6.3-1, runomdrop install-driverto rebuild it.
0.12.0
- Manage Contacts Only senders from the panel. A people button beside Everyone / Contacts Only opens the list: add an Apple ID email or phone number, click a sender to remove them. Changes apply to the next transfer, no restart.
0.11.0
- Peer names appear as soon as each device answers, in seconds rather than after the whole lookup, and devices that arrive mid-lookup are asked right away. Needs driver 0.6.3: run
omdrop install-driverafter updating.
0.10.2
- Upload timeouts say how far they got. When an upload times out, the log line now gives the bytes received, the time elapsed, and which limit fired, so a transfer that stopped can be told apart from one that was only slow (#13).
0.10.1
- First use finishes setting up. Turning Omdrop on for the first time installs the receiving service and puts the
omdropcommand on your PATH. Before, it asked you to runomdrop setup, which was not on PATH yet (#12, reported by @EttienneM).
0.10.0
- Everyone / Contacts Only in the panel. Tabs under the timer choose who may send, including while Omdrop is off, so the mode is set before a window opens. In Contacts Only the panel says how many known senders can see you, and warns when the list is empty.
0.9.2
- Requires driver 0.6.2. Turning receiving on right after installing the driver no longer fails with "awdl0 has no link-local": the driver now makes NetworkManager leave
awdl0alone without a reboot (brentkearney/omdrop-awdl#15, reported by @EttienneM).
0.9.1
- This computer's AirDrop identity (certificate, key and Apple ID validation record) moves to
~/.omdrop/keys. If~/.opendrop/keysexists and~/.omdropdoesn't, it's copied there once, and the original is left in place for OpenDrop. omdrop onupdates the installed receiver service before starting it, so a plugin update no longer needsomdrop setup.- Requires driver 0.6.1. The panel offers to update an older driver.
