Thank you for using Exercise Lock (the “App”). We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how the App collects, uses, and protects your information.
By using this App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this policy.
This Privacy Policy applies to data processed by Exercise Lock when you use the App on iOS or iPadOS devices. It does not apply to:
- Data collected by third-party apps or websites
- Information you voluntarily provide on other platforms (e.g. email, social media, GitHub)
Exercise Lock is designed following the principle of data minimization. We do not collect or upload any personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, or phone number.
The App may access or process the following data locally on your device only:
Stored on your device only and never uploaded to any server.
This may include:
- Apps or websites you selected to be locked
- Daily exercise completion status
- Temporary skip/pass status (e.g. “No lock today”)
- Auto-lock activation time
- Onboarding and UI preferences
If you grant permission, the App may read certain data from Apple Health for the sole purpose of determining whether you have completed sufficient exercise to unlock restricted apps.
- Only minimal data required for the logic decision is accessed
- Data is processed locally
- No health data is uploaded or shared
- No data is used for marketing or profiling
You may revoke access at any time in: Health App → Profile → Apps → Exercise Lock
The App uses system APIs to manage restricted apps based on your settings and exercise results:
- List of apps selected for locking
- Lock/unlock status
- Time-based enforcement settings
This information is used only for local device control and is never transmitted externally.
Your local data is used exclusively to:
- Determine whether apps should remain locked or be unlocked
- Track your progress toward daily exercise requirements
- Provide real-time updates on lock/unlock status
- Improve user experience by remembering your preferences
Exercise Lock does NOT upload, sell, or share your data with any remote server or third party for advertising or tracking purposes.
- All data is stored locally on your device
- No external database or cloud storage is used
- When you uninstall the App, local data may be permanently removed depending on system behavior
Exercise Lock currently does NOT use:
- Third-party analytics services
- Ad networks
- Remote data storage services
If such services are introduced in the future, this policy will be updated and your consent will be requested when necessary.
When HealthKit access is granted, data is used only to:
- Determine eligibility for unlocking apps
- Support the exercise-based usage logic
We DO NOT:
- Upload HealthKit data
- Share HealthKit data
- Use HealthKit data for advertising or profiling
This App is not specifically designed for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from minors. Parental guidance is recommended when used by younger users.
Because all data is stored locally, you retain full control through:
- Revoking HealthKit permissions
- Modifying Screen Time settings
- Deleting the App
This policy may be updated periodically. Significant changes will be communicated via:
- In-app notice
- App Store update notes
We recommend reviewing this policy regularly.
