New

  • Unloading of inactive tabs, set per pod: right-click a capsule →
    Unload inactive tabs and pick 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour or
    6 hours. A tab of the pod that was not switched to and played no audio or
    video for that long is unloaded to free memory, pinned and collapsed tabs
    included. It stays in its pod and loads again when you switch to it.
  • Tabs that Firefox does not let unload, such as about:config or a page
    asking to stay because of unsaved input, are left alone, and so are tabs
    with picture-in-picture or sharing the camera, microphone or screen.
  • A video playing without sound does not keep its tab loaded: Firefox does
    not report it. Unloaded tabs look like tabs not restored yet after a
    restart; to dim them, set browser.tabs.fadeOutUnloadedTabs to true in
    about:config.

Tested with Firefox 158 on Windows 11.

Updating

Replace TabPods.uc.js in the chrome folder of your profile with the one
attached below and restart Firefox.
