0.3.0

Choose a tag to compare

@cagatayuncu cagatayuncu released this 04 Sep 11:46
96c779d

Features

  • Doctor output formats for people and pipelines: --format text (terminal),
--format markdown (PR descriptions, issues), --format sarif (GitHub code
scanning, with an action input sarif-file that uploads it) and
    --format baseline (ready-to-paste doctor.ignoreFindings entries)
  • --explain <check-id> prints the fix recipe in the terminal;
--list-checks prints the catalog; typos in --checks/--skip are usage
errors instead of silently running nothing
  • Findings carry a key (the branch, tag, sha, file or PR they are about) and
doctor.ignoreFindings accepts check-id:key, so one branch or tag can be
silenced instead of a whole check; gitdoctor baseline flow in SKILL.md
  • Five new checks (47 total): changelog-tag-mismatch (latest tag has no
changelog heading on main), tag-unsigned (opt-in via
    release.signedTags), gh-protection-missing-develop,
    gh-release-missing-for-tag, homebrew-formula-stale
  • Homebrew distribution folded into the flow: homebrew.tap/homebrew.formula
    in .gitflow.json, a homebrew-formula step in the release/hotfix finish
probe, and a playbook that bumps url + sha256 in the tap with one gh api
    call (no clone)
  • .gitflow.json JSON Schema (schema/gitflow.schema.json) for editor
completion; $schema documented in the config reference
  • pre-commit framework support (.pre-commit-hooks.yamlgitdoctor-preflight
pre-push hook); the hook finds the doctor next to itself in a gitdoctor checkout
  • Standalone runs read changelog, release.githubRelease and
release.signedTags from .gitflow.json (sed fallback), so hooks and the
action honour them without the agent

Fixes

  • Shipped-but-undeleted release/* branches no longer count as open releases
    (hotfix back-merge routing, multiple-release-branches,
    release-develop-drift); orphaned-release-branch gives a local-only
cleanup hint when origin already dropped the branch
  • bash 3.2 (macOS): empty printf -v left variables unset and set -u
aborted the doctor; caught by the new macOS CI leg

Tests

  • Suite grown to 59 scenarios; CI matrix adds macOS (bash 3.2)

0.2.1 (2026-08-30)

Fixes

  • Action metadata for GitHub Marketplace validation: unique listing name
("gitdoctor - Git Flow health gate") and a description under 125 characters.
The uses: cagatayuncu/gitdoctor@<tag> path is unchanged.

0.2.0

Choose a tag to compare

@cagatayuncu cagatayuncu released this 31 Aug 15:16
55216f1

0.2.0 (2026-08-30)

Distribution release: one-line PR bot, plugin packaging, hooks.

Features

  • Composite GitHub Action at the repo root: the PR bot becomes a single
uses: cagatayuncu/gitdoctor@v0.2.0 line (inputs: checks, skip,
min-severity, comment, fail-on, github-token; dogfooded on this repo's own PRs)
  • Claude Code plugin manifest (.claude-plugin/plugin.json); installable via
    the cagatayuncu/claude-plugins marketplace
  • Integration layer: client pre-push and server pre-receive hooks (both
fixture-tested), cron watcher for CI-less repos, scheduled-scan template,
GitLab CI and Bitbucket Pipelines drafts
  • Test suite grown to 45 scenarios (hook gates exercised over real pushes)

Fixes

  • PR bot polish from its first live run: report written outside the worktree,
GitHub-side checks get a token, deliberate SC2016 silenced
  • LF checkout forced for extensionless hook files and stub fixtures

Docs

  • MIT license, README badges and topics, plugin install instructions,
check count corrected to the mechanical 42

0.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@cagatayuncu cagatayuncu released this 31 Aug 12:59
22825c3

0.1.0 (2026-08-30)

First public release.

Features

  • Read-only doctor with 42 checks across environment, worktree, local/origin
sync, git-flow topology (missing back-merge, wrong-base branches, orphaned
releases), tags and branch hygiene — each finding paired with a fix recipe
  • Probe-driven, resumable finish flows for feature/release/hotfix (evidence:
    ancestry → gh PR → content-equivalence → tag → branch-gone)
  • Branch-protection-aware merge modes resolved per target branch (PR vs local)
  • Squash-merge awareness via merge-tree content equivalence
  • GitHub Actions PR bot: one self-updating findings comment per PR, criticals
gate the check; reusable template + scheduled-scan template
  • Client pre-push and server pre-receive hooks (both fixture-tested), cron
watcher for CI-less repos, GitLab CI and Bitbucket Pipelines drafts
  • Agent playbooks for Claude Code (skill) and Cursor (command adapter)

Fixes

  • capture/capture_all kept data arriving without a trailing newline
(version-file reads); shellcheck findings from the first CI runs; PR bot
writes its report outside the worktree and authenticates GitHub-side checks

Docs

  • English README with integration guide; fix-recipe catalog; config schema
