FlightWire 0.6.0 - Beta B10.9
Version: 0.6.0-Beta_B10.9 - prerelease
This prerelease brings the changes from private Alpha 202 to the protected Open Beta package. Changes below are relative to B10.2.
FIXED
- Improved VATSIM/TCAS recording, including reused aircraft IDs, missing or unreliable ground flags, traffic motion and interrupted recording recovery.
- Preserved flight dates and measured durations across simulator clock changes, partial flights and missing ground observations.
- Retained all native touchdowns when optional landing-rate data is incomplete; corrected final arrival timing and resumed taxi after temporary stops.
- Recovered completed-flight exports after storage failures and recording preference changes, with verified output before recovery data is removed.
- Applied realistic response delays to departure OPS, beacon dispatch and release requests; kept pending deadlines and retry backoff through restarts.
- Rechecked queued release grants against current flight conditions and cleared pending releases correctly after
.STOP. - Required valid Hoppie acknowledgements before treating messages as sent; malformed responses remain eligible for retry.
- Recovered SIGMET, VATSIM map, authorization and service workers after malformed responses or interrupted refreshes.
- Corrected SIGMET location/expiry handling, engine-off pushback, FF777 liftoff and fuel-jettison evidence, and unavailable aircraft measurements.
- Strengthened OCC session/receipt recovery and LAN discovery after temporary network or persistence failures.
CHANGED
- Reduced repeated dataref reads, hidden-window updates, departure-evidence copying and export compression overhead.
- Refined button borders, status colors, activity cards, sidebar alignment and pictograms while preserving existing controls.
- Kept missing schedule, weather and aircraft evidence explicitly unavailable instead of inventing replacement values.
- Updated the manual and Basic/PRO descriptions to match current Companion update intervals.
ADDED
- Recording gap/recovery, traffic capture, export timing and OCC recovery diagnostics.
- Clearer activity empty states and bounded Companion service error messages.
Installation
- Close X-Plane and back up your current FlightWire installation and settings.
- Download
FlightWire_Beta_B10.9.zipbelow. - Merge the included
PythonPluginsfolder intoX-Plane 12/Resources/plugins, replacing the existing FlightWire plugin files. - Restart X-Plane and confirm 0.6.0 / BETA B10.9 in FlightWire.
Requires X-Plane 12 on Windows and XPPython3 4.7.0 or newer with Python 3.12. The updated 12-page manual is included in docs.
Verification and known limitations
- 1,945 source tests and 1,463 protected-package checks passed. All 47 protected modules match the A202 runtime source after the version change.
- Archive CRC, contents, source hashes, imports and manual were verified. Native X-Plane flight, provider delivery and FPS acceptance have not been established for this exact package.
- The separate Logbook importer still needs its coordinated clock-duration update; changing simulator UTC during a flight can still inflate some imported durations in Logbook.

FlightWire 0.6.0 - Open Beta B10.2
Version: 0.6.0-Beta_B10.2
Open Beta: Unexpected behaviour may still occur; please use the built-in Bug Reporter when something goes wrong.
Highlights
- Redesigned native interface: a compact flight strip, horizontal navigation, persistent diagnostic sidebar, clearer activity feed, complete SimBrief OFP reader and command-style Log improve day-to-day use.
- More capable Basic plugin: local recording, completed-flight export, interrupted-flight recovery, standalone aircraft logging and native X-Plane replay auto-save no longer require PRO.
- Richer aircraft evidence: Zibo recordings now preserve native gear, autopilot/FMA, disconnect, autobrake, speedbrake and V-speed observations.
- Safer recovery and completion: active journals, failed exports and OCC completion survive plan changes, worker replacement, shutdown and restart without silently reopening or republishing a completed flight.
- Lower plugin overhead: rendering work is cached and batched, background preparation and persistence move off simulator callbacks, and flight-history snapshots no longer copy the complete journal while holding the capture lock.
Added
- Persistent sidebar status for flight progress, live aircraft data, automation, operational checks and configured services.
- Troubleshooting and Live Values views with filtered runtime, rendering and connection evidence plus redacted copying.
- Standalone local flight logging for aircraft without online-service credentials; recognized Laminar King Air C90B names default to tracking-only mode.
- Optional PRO-gated OCC integration in the plugin, off by default, with visible activation status and resilient completion recovery.
- Optional Discord contact field in the in-simulator Bug Reporter.
- Explicit sampled and OOOI airborne durations, duration difference, and planned/observed load provenance in new exports.
- Native Zibo recording for gear UP/OFF/DOWN; individual CMD/CWS channels; active and armed PFD modes; autopilot and disconnect indications; FLARE/ROLLOUT; autobrake; speedbrake armed; FMC V1/VR/V2; and observed VREF.
Changed
- Rebuilt the main window and popups with consistent dark/light styling, the shipped FlightWire logo, attached navigation tabs, aligned icons, smoother controls and clearer typography.
- Reduced the flight strip from 104 to 64 pixels and placed route, callsign, aircraft, flight phase, ETD and alternate beside a larger FETCH FPL control with missing/loading/outdated/error feedback.
- FPL displays the complete SimBrief/LIDO plan with scrolling, selection and copying. LOG uses a command-reader layout with a separate Live Values view.
- Reorganized Settings into Connections, AI service, Replies, Preferences and About, with clearer access status and safer save handling.
- Basic retains recording, export, recovery and normal Companion operation. PRO enables faster Companion cadence—5-second active and 15-second background instead of Basic's 10/45 seconds—and remains required for OCC.
- The plugin uses the newer paired LAN protocol; an older B9.3-era Logbook cannot pair with B10.2.
- Hoppie traffic uses HTTPS, and credential-bearing requests reject redirects. Other configured remote services also reject unsafe redirects while local/LAN Ollama HTTP remains supported.
- Existing recording preferences and the one-second recording evaluation cadence remain unchanged.
Fixed
- Preserved unreadable or locked settings, saved operational memory and encrypted credentials instead of replacing them with displayed defaults; rejected saves keep the previous working configuration.
- Applied the latest Auto OPS choice after startup recovery, showed stopped workers accurately, disabled stale operational controls, and safely handed off Logbook output-folder changes without stranding unfinished journals.
- Kept the current flight and recovery journal when a different SimBrief plan would otherwise replace unfinished work; preserved recording keys across plan revisions and settings handoffs.
- Exported completed local recordings while OPS is paused and moved GA memory writes, worker preparation and recovery work away from simulator callbacks.
- Retained failed-recovery journals until export succeeds, preserved explicit track gaps after position loss and prevented replay saves from being assigned to a recovered or different flight.
- Persisted unconfirmed OCC completion through early shutdown, restart and worker replacement until acknowledgement, without reopening or republishing the leg.
- Rejected nonfinite simulator and Landing Rate Display samples instead of recording false values, while retaining array positions and recovery behavior.
- Preserved recording history and field provenance across restart, aircraft qualification changes, disabled cockpit actions and temporarily unavailable native data.
- Kept missing or unset Zibo native values unavailable, rejected incompatible dataref types and retained unknown enum values without guessed labels.
- Stopped FF777 control animation and unsupported system data from appearing as verified cockpit state; retained raw observations and source metadata.
- Ended landing rollout at taxi/deceleration and corrected traffic vertical-speed units used for separation prediction and recording.
- Validated airport/runway downloads before replacing cached data, repaired invalid fresh caches immediately and excluded closed runways from airport-length and diversion evidence.
- Improved arrival OPS filtering so unavailable-only, resolved or immaterial weather updates are suppressed while useful controller, procedure, cumulative weather and source advisories remain available.
- Rejected malformed or oversized OPS language variants, bounded rendered messages and distinguished invalid or oversized ride-report responses from connection failures.
- Improved SimBrief and CheckWX connection tests, weather-age handling, TAF change-period checks, sterile-cockpit release and invalid flight-plan/weather-number recovery.
- Made Bug Reporter submissions recoverable across close/restart, prevented duplicate retries after ambiguous outcomes, restored missing popup actions and optional Discord input, and surfaced concise access, destination, format, rejection and rate-limit errors.
- Initialized native custom-button enabled state during widget creation; restored hover/press feedback, corrected popup layout and text selection, and prevented Preferences/About overlap after access refresh.

FOR FLIGHT-SIMULATION ONLY
FlightWire 0.6.0 - Beta B11.2
Version: 0.6.0-Beta_B11.2 — Open Beta
Not flown-tested yet
FlightWire B11.2 adds Google Gemini, crew-requested weather-route comparisons and LevelUp 737 recording support, together with safer Companion SIGMET delivery and stronger OPS reply recovery. It includes all B11.1 changes.
Added
- Google Gemini as an optional AI provider, with a separate protected API key, model selection, a generation test and token usage reporting. Existing OpenAI and Ollama settings remain available. Google manages Gemini billing; FlightWire's OpenAI dollar limit does not cap Gemini usage.
- Crew-requested weather-route comparisons using OFP fixes, local navigation data or coordinates, geometric distance differences and current published SIGMET intersections. These comparisons do not generate cleared routes or ATC clearances. Detailed simulated-weather acquisition remains disabled pending validation.
Fixed
- Suppress Companion SIGMET pushes while parked, taxiing, replaying or lacking verified fresh airborne state. Queued and retrying notifications are cancelled when aircraft state becomes ground, unknown or stale, while the route case remains available for planning.
- Treat failed ground-state readings as unknown even when the display retains an earlier airborne value, and require a fresh live sample after replay before SIGMET notifications can resume.
- Prevent an older Companion delivery receipt from marking newer alert content as delivered when queue backpressure blocked its replacement.
- Recognise LevelUp 737 native CMD/CWS autopilot states and IAS/Mach selector input. Automatic or otherwise unverified target changes remain system telemetry rather than cockpit-action markers.
- Preserve distinct SIGMET report identities and flight-specific weather awareness, reducing missed hazards and repeat advisories for unchanged reissues.
- Recover malformed Hoppie and AI responses through bounded retry handling. Incomplete provider output is rejected, while generated replies and promised follow-ups survive delivery retries, pauses and shutdown recovery.
Changed
- Coalesce routine weather updates and share a quiet interval across weather messages, while retaining exceptions for verified urgent hazards.

FlightWire 0.6.0 - Beta B11.1 Hotfix
Version: 0.6.0-Beta_B11.1 — Open Beta hotfix
FlightWire B11.1 is a focused hotfix for Zibo and ToLiss tracking-only recording. It includes all B11 changes.
Fixed
- Tracking-only flights can now optionally use FETCH FPL to add SimBrief identity, route, schedule, fuel and OFP details to their Logbook recording. This does not require Hoppie or AI credentials, enable OPS/ACARS services, or replace an active local recording.
- Local logging now recovers correctly when X-Plane identifies a Zibo or ToLiss tracking-only aircraft after startup initially followed a full-OPS configuration path.

FlightWire 0.6.0 - Beta B11
Version: 0.6.0-Beta_B11 — Open Beta
FlightWire B11 is a reliability, recording and workflow update over B10.9. It adds native X-Plane keyboard/joystick commands, improves long-flight and recovery integrity, makes specific-airport weather requests more dependable, expands validated ToLiss recording evidence, and fixes the grey startup window and clipped activity scrolling seen in earlier B11 test builds.
Highlights
- 18 assignable X-Plane commands: show or hide FlightWire, jump directly to tabs, toggle the seven FUNC controls, pause/resume OPS, fetch a SimBrief plan and cycle display mode from a keyboard, joystick or controller.
- Stronger flight recording: better long-flight compaction, crash recovery, touchdown/liftoff handling, asynchronous export work and 30-second cruise checkpoints protect the arrival portion of the flight and keep OPS responsive.
- More dependable weather and OPS delivery: explicit airport requests now stay tied to the requested ICAO, queued reports are revalidated before delivery, and changed, stale or withdrawn weather is not sent as current information.
- Better ToLiss evidence: native gear/flap state, cockpit FCU interaction, flight identity and optional per-engine reverser sleeve position are recorded with explicit provenance instead of guessing unsupported values.
- Cleaner startup and MAIN page: the saved palette is applied before first paint, the main window waits until startup checking is complete, and activity text uses the full message bubble while scrolling.
Full changelog from B10.9
Interface, startup and controls
- Add 18 native
flightwire/commands for window visibility, direct MAIN/FPL/SETTINGS/LOG/MOBILE access, AUTO OPS, ATC, WXR, FUEL, DIVERT, LOGGING, MX, OPS polling, Fetch FPL and display mode.
Recording, export and recovery
- Preserve descent, approach and taxi coverage when a long flight reaches the recording limit instead of allowing older cruise data to crowd out the arrival.
- Move checkpoint encoding/writes and final export encoding/writes off the simulator callback path so disk and compression work cannot block OPS polling and replies.
- Save cruise recovery checkpoints every 30 seconds, matching the active-flight interval.
- Complete local Logbook exports during Hoppie outages or paused polling, while preserving retry, flight-identity and verified-cleanup safeguards.
- Retain OPS conversations in the matching recovery journal and preserve the original receipt time for incoming messages.
- Prevent LOGGING toggles after a completed flight from reopening a journal or creating a duplicate flight.
- Keep same-aircraft ToLiss engine-variant metadata changes from restarting an active recording; genuine aircraft loads still reset it correctly.
- Record X-Plane's published ownship flight ID as the local flight number, falling back to registration only when the flight ID is empty.
- Preserve separate touchdown and liftoff events during bounces and short touch-and-go sequences while still merging truly coincident sensor reports.
- Preserve recovery data when legacy-file migration is incomplete, conflicting, corrupt or interrupted by an I/O failure.
OPS, weather and alerts
- Honour explicit four-letter ICAO airports in OPS requests such as
METAR EGLL,TAF YSSYandREQ WX EDDF, including airports outside the active flight plan. - Keep delayed weather replies bound to the requested airport, report type and current source revision. Changed reports are rebuilt before delivery; withdrawn, expired or no-longer-relevant reports are cancelled.
- Keep arrival and departure ATIS separate, preserve complete bounded ATIS text and return every requested product in combined METAR/TAF requests with clear partial-failure reporting.
- Reject provider weather for the wrong station while preserving usable data when only part of a CheckWX request succeeds.
- Retry automatic ATIS delivery while its source evidence remains current, without weakening normal freshness or identity checks.
- Apply completed SIGMET updates, withdrawals and cache-age checks before validating queued advisories.
- Use the scheduled departure time when projecting pre-departure SIGMET encounters.
- Preserve both supported turbulence layers from a PIREP/AIREP, deduplicated by layer identity, and revalidate queued ride advisories before delivery.
- Process compound turbulence or hazard reports alongside ETA and fuel updates instead of losing one part of the crew report.
- Remove repeated weather-hazard wording from combined METAR/TAF advisories.
- Hold pending OPS replies across a polling pause or worker shutdown. Generated text remains available for resume, cancellation does not consume a retry, and already-admitted requests cannot cause duplicate delivery.
Aircraft, phase and cockpit evidence
- Preserve native ToLiss gear and flap readings at liftoff and touchdown, including their correct evidence source.
- Correlate ToLiss FCU knob motion with selections using monotonic observations, so genuine cockpit selections remain visible at accelerated simulator speeds and across simulator-clock changes.
- Separate automatic or otherwise unverified ToLiss target changes from confirmed cockpit actions. Unsupported native FMA or system measurements remain unknown and retain their raw evidence instead of being assigned a guessed label.
- Add optional native ToLiss reverser sleeve-position recording with per-engine range/type validation and explicit animation-derived provenance.
- Add bounded, coalesced system-history evidence to schema-v1 exports without replacing existing fields.
- Label FF777 MCP selections explicitly and leave unsupported active FMA modes unknown rather than falsely reporting generic ROLL/PITCH or ILS capture states.
- Recognize sustained level flight through turbulence without leaving the phase stuck in CLIMB.

FlightWire Beta B9.3
FlightWire Beta B9.3
FlightWire B9.3 strengthens day-to-day OPS coordination, adds better operational decision support, and improves Companion awareness while keeping advisory evidence conservative.
Highlights
- Disruption Decision Packages:
OPS ASSESS BEST DIVERTcompares the available distance, fuel, weather, runway, approach, restriction, ATC and stand evidence without allowing AI to invent the result. - Out-of-Cockpit Sentinel: FlightWire Mobile can warn about serious aircraft, fuel, weather, SIGMET, ATC and missed-arrival cases and link the alert to the relevant OPS case.
- Coordinated Arrival Picture: destination weather, ATIS, runway, approach, ATC, stand and retained ETA/fuel evidence can be combined into one useful arrival package.
- Route Ride Reports: fresh and relevant moderate-or-worse PIREP/AIREP turbulence reports can produce a bounded advisory.
Changed
- Added current-aircraft position and authoritative planned-route telemetry for supported FlightWire Mobile map use.
- Made permanent AI-service failures move directly to FlightWire's deterministic local fallback while temporary outages and rate limits continue to retry.
- Improved preflight briefing variants and first-contact coordination.
- Kept optional detailed-recording checks on a low-frequency cadence to avoid adding per-frame filesystem work.
Fixed
- Kept weather confidence tied to each airport and observation, preventing missing arrival evidence from downgrading a confirmed departure advisory.
- Prevented departure and enroute VATSIM advisories from suppressing a later destination-specific arrival ATC advisory.
- Preserved deterministic OPS replies when an optional AI request fails.
- Reports missing OFP NOTAM evidence as unavailable instead of presenting an unsupported
NILcondition.
Read the included manual before installation or updating.
