FlightWire B11 is a reliability, recording and workflow update over B10.9. It adds native X-Plane keyboard/joystick commands, improves long-flight and recovery integrity, makes specific-airport weather requests more dependable, expands validated ToLiss recording evidence, and fixes the grey startup window and clipped activity scrolling seen in earlier B11 test builds.

Highlights

  • 18 assignable X-Plane commands: show or hide FlightWire, jump directly to tabs, toggle the seven FUNC controls, pause/resume OPS, fetch a SimBrief plan and cycle display mode from a keyboard, joystick or controller.
  • Stronger flight recording: better long-flight compaction, crash recovery, touchdown/liftoff handling, asynchronous export work and 30-second cruise checkpoints protect the arrival portion of the flight and keep OPS responsive.
  • More dependable weather and OPS delivery: explicit airport requests now stay tied to the requested ICAO, queued reports are revalidated before delivery, and changed, stale or withdrawn weather is not sent as current information.
  • Better ToLiss evidence: native gear/flap state, cockpit FCU interaction, flight identity and optional per-engine reverser sleeve position are recorded with explicit provenance instead of guessing unsupported values.
  • Cleaner startup and MAIN page: the saved palette is applied before first paint, the main window waits until startup checking is complete, and activity text uses the full message bubble while scrolling.

Interface, startup and controls

  • Add 18 native flightwire/ commands for window visibility, direct MAIN/FPL/SETTINGS/LOG/MOBILE access, AUTO OPS, ATC, WXR, FUEL, DIVERT, LOGGING, MX, OPS polling, Fetch FPL and display mode.

Recording, export and recovery

  • Preserve descent, approach and taxi coverage when a long flight reaches the recording limit instead of allowing older cruise data to crowd out the arrival.
  • Move checkpoint encoding/writes and final export encoding/writes off the simulator callback path so disk and compression work cannot block OPS polling and replies.
  • Save cruise recovery checkpoints every 30 seconds, matching the active-flight interval.
  • Complete local Logbook exports during Hoppie outages or paused polling, while preserving retry, flight-identity and verified-cleanup safeguards.
  • Retain OPS conversations in the matching recovery journal and preserve the original receipt time for incoming messages.
  • Prevent LOGGING toggles after a completed flight from reopening a journal or creating a duplicate flight.
  • Keep same-aircraft ToLiss engine-variant metadata changes from restarting an active recording; genuine aircraft loads still reset it correctly.
  • Record X-Plane's published ownship flight ID as the local flight number, falling back to registration only when the flight ID is empty.
  • Preserve separate touchdown and liftoff events during bounces and short touch-and-go sequences while still merging truly coincident sensor reports.
  • Preserve recovery data when legacy-file migration is incomplete, conflicting, corrupt or interrupted by an I/O failure.

OPS, weather and alerts

  • Honour explicit four-letter ICAO airports in OPS requests such as METAR EGLL, TAF YSSY and REQ WX EDDF, including airports outside the active flight plan.
  • Keep delayed weather replies bound to the requested airport, report type and current source revision. Changed reports are rebuilt before delivery; withdrawn, expired or no-longer-relevant reports are cancelled.
  • Keep arrival and departure ATIS separate, preserve complete bounded ATIS text and return every requested product in combined METAR/TAF requests with clear partial-failure reporting.
  • Reject provider weather for the wrong station while preserving usable data when only part of a CheckWX request succeeds.
  • Retry automatic ATIS delivery while its source evidence remains current, without weakening normal freshness or identity checks.
  • Apply completed SIGMET updates, withdrawals and cache-age checks before validating queued advisories.
  • Use the scheduled departure time when projecting pre-departure SIGMET encounters.
  • Preserve both supported turbulence layers from a PIREP/AIREP, deduplicated by layer identity, and revalidate queued ride advisories before delivery.
  • Process compound turbulence or hazard reports alongside ETA and fuel updates instead of losing one part of the crew report.
  • Remove repeated weather-hazard wording from combined METAR/TAF advisories.
  • Hold pending OPS replies across a polling pause or worker shutdown. Generated text remains available for resume, cancellation does not consume a retry, and already-admitted requests cannot cause duplicate delivery.

Aircraft, phase and cockpit evidence

  • Preserve native ToLiss gear and flap readings at liftoff and touchdown, including their correct evidence source.
  • Correlate ToLiss FCU knob motion with selections using monotonic observations, so genuine cockpit selections remain visible at accelerated simulator speeds and across simulator-clock changes.
  • Separate automatic or otherwise unverified ToLiss target changes from confirmed cockpit actions. Unsupported native FMA or system measurements remain unknown and retain their raw evidence instead of being assigned a guessed label.
  • Add optional native ToLiss reverser sleeve-position recording with per-engine range/type validation and explicit animation-derived provenance.
  • Add bounded, coalesced system-history evidence to schema-v1 exports without replacing existing fields.
  • Label FF777 MCP selections explicitly and leave unsupported active FMA modes unknown rather than falsely reporting generic ROLL/PITCH or ILS capture states.
  • Recognize sustained level flight through turbulence without leaving the phase stuck in CLIMB.

Installation

  1. Close X-Plane and back up your current FlightWire installation and settings.
  2. Download FlightWire_Beta_B11.zip from Assets below.
  3. Open the ZIP and copy its included PythonPlugins folder into X-Plane 12\Resources\plugins, replacing the existing FlightWire files when prompted. Do not copy the unopened ZIP itself into the simulator folder.
  4. Restart X-Plane.
  5. Open Plugins > FlightWire > Open FlightWire and confirm 0.6.0 / BETA B11.
