Interviews

This page describes the interview process and the results. The interviews were conducted online in spring-summer 2020. We interviewed 23 stakeholders. Among them were Estonian language researchers, Estonian language teachers, foreign students as well as high-school students and adults who either spoke Estonian or Russian as their mother tongue.

In order to find the user types from the interviews, we used a few interview scales and matched the results accordingly. We asked a range of questions to find out why and how they use either corpora, language learning environments or any other kind of environments to improve the teaching and learning of a language.

We mapped the users on six scales:

• Device used
• Motivation
• Goal
• Frequency
• Anonymity
• Presentation of results

These scales are also depicted on the persona descriptions, with the exception of 'motivation' and 'anonymity' scales. We left those two out because they didn't give any insights for creating the differing personas. You can see the results of the interviews under Personas.
