QuickAdd 2.31.0
This release is mostly fixes. QuickAdd loads again on iPhones and iPads with iOS 15.6 to 16.3, and changes you make when Settings opens in its own window are saved right away. Date fields can also hide their calendar.
To update, open Settings → Community plugins and click Check for updates.
QuickAdd loads again on iOS 15.6 to 16.3
2.30.0 used a kind of search pattern (a regex lookbehind) that iPhones and iPads only understand from iOS 16.4. On iOS 15.6 to 16.3, QuickAdd failed to load at all. 2.31.0 doesn't use it, and QuickAdd's build now refuses it, so it can't come back (#2166).
Changes in Settings' own window are saved
Obsidian 1.13 opens Settings in its own window by default. A change you made there, such as reordering choices, was only written to disk when QuickAdd saved again for another reason, for example after your next change or when you quit Obsidian. Now it's saved about a second after the change, whichever window you're in.
A global variable you typed right before closing Settings is kept too. Before, closing Settings within a fifth of a second of typing dropped the edit (#2182, #2184).
Hide the date calendar
Date fields have a calendar button at the right edge of the text box. Click it to hide the calendar, and again to show it. QuickAdd remembers your choice for every date field, in the one-page form and in the date prompt, so if you type your dates (tomorrow 3pm, friday), you can drop the calendar once and keep the form compact. On a phone, that also lets the form fit above the keyboard.
Tab now goes from a date field to the next field, instead of through every day of the calendar first. Thanks to @yonit-chauhan for #2167 (#2174, #2176).

Fixes
- A Macro that runs itself no longer freezes Obsidian. Whether it calls itself directly, through another choice, or through
{{MACRO:…}}, it now stops with an error naming the loop, such asMacro "Self loop" calls itself: Self loop -> Self loop. The Macro builder no longer offers a Macro as one of its own steps (#2177). - A Template choice's folder with a trailing slash or backslashes (
Projects/orProjects\2026) created the note in the root of the vault, and a template path with backslashes wasn't found. Both work now (#2178). - A user script with a syntax error says which script it is, and on desktop which line:
Could not load scripts/movies.js because it has a syntax error on line 2: Unexpected token ';'. Fix the script and run it again. The script's settings button shows the same message instead of a generic error (#2179). - Create line if not found keeps a new quote or callout separate. A created line that would sit right against an existing quote used to join it, so a created callout didn't render as a callout. QuickAdd now puts one blank line between them (#2163, #2165).
- Pressing Enter right after typing in a picker picks from the list for what you typed. If Enter came before the list caught up, it picked the top row of the previous list (#2164).
- QuickAdd no longer changes how Obsidian's own and other plugins' suggestion lists look (#2172).
- On a phone, suggestions under a field near the top of a choice's settings page no longer cover the page's back button (#2159).
For apps that drive QuickAdd
- New
quickadd:suggestcommand.quickadd:suggest kind=linksandkind=tagsreturn Obsidian's own link suggestions and tags as JSON, so apps like Raycast can offer[[and#completion (docs, #2175). quickadd:interactivemarks note pickers withpicker: "file", so an app can start them empty, as QuickAdd's own form does (#2160).- An interactive run stops about 3 seconds after its app goes away, for example when you close the form in Raycast. It used to keep running for over a minute (#2181).
New in the docs
- Trigger QuickAdd from your phone with iPhone and iPad Shortcuts or on Android (#2157).
- The daily note captures package now writes to
{{DAILY}}, so it follows your Daily notes settings and creates a missing note from your daily notes template (#2158). - Smaller fixes to the package pages, and version markers on the behaviors that are new in 2.30.0 (#1933, #1939, #2152).
For contributors: pnpm run lint now fails on what Obsidian's plugin review reports, such as floating promises and deprecated APIs (#2168, #2169, #2170, #2171). svelte-dnd-action 0.9.80 includes the fix for dragging in Settings' own window, so QuickAdd no longer patches it (#2185).
