Klydo Clock 0.1.2 — Night mode and favorites
Adds three Home Assistant controls:
- Night mode switch: enter or leave night mode now, with actual clock-state readback. The stock sequence takes multiple presses and exiting restores maximum brightness.
- Automatic night mode selector: Off, Scheduled (using saved clock hours), or Dim room. This remains independent of the manual switch.
- Toggle favorite button: add/remove the displayed animation, with confirmation that the favorites list changed.
Update Klydo Clock to v0.1.2 in HACS and restart Home Assistant. Existing configuration and entity IDs are retained; the new entities appear on the clock device.
The automatic selector navigates the stock English menus and can take a minute or more. Start with the clock awake in Feed, with menus closed, and avoid using the remote while it runs. Close menus before using Favorite. Automatic rules can later override a manually selected night state. Configure scheduled hours on the clock itself.
No clock files, databases, APKs or firmware are directly edited, and no helper is installed. Controls use normal remote key events; the stock app saves its own settings. State reads are narrowly filtered, and the favorites list is hashed on-device rather than downloaded.
Validation: 88 automated tests passed; Ruff, Hassfest and HACS validation passed on GitHub. Live checks confirmed night on/off, automatic setting changes and favorite toggling, with initial settings and favorite state restored. Schedule-boundary and ambient-light behavior remain governed by the stock app and need observation on the installation target.
Manual installation: extract the attached ZIP and copy custom_components/klydo_clock into Home Assistant's config/custom_components/, then restart. HACS users can use the normal update flow.
Klydo Clock 0.1.1 — Automatic discovery
Adds automatic discovery for stock Klydo clocks using their existing mDNS ADB advertisements. No clock modification or subnet scanning is required.
- Accepts the observed
_adb._tcp.local./adb-*advertisement on port1379. - Verifies the installed Klydo app and stable device identity through ADB before showing a discovered-device confirmation card.
- Updates an existing clock's IP address only after identity verification; device/entity IDs remain stable.
- Avoids duplicate setup flows and additional ADB connections for already configured IP endpoints.
- Preserves manual setup for networks without mDNS and clocks using other ports.
Upgrade
Update Klydo Clock to 0.1.1 in HACS and restart Home Assistant. Open Settings → Devices & services to accept the discovered card if the clock is not already configured. Existing entries are retained and do not generate duplicate cards.
Home Assistant must receive the clock's mDNS advertisement and reach ADB. Networks with separate VLANs may require mDNS forwarding; continue restricting ADB to Home Assistant and approved administrators. A DHCP reservation is still useful.
Validation
70 automated tests pass locally with 96% coverage. Both direct DNS-SD queries and a live multicast browse observed the test clock advertising port 1379. The GitHub workflow checks tests, lint, HACS and Hassfest before this release.
Card appearance and a real DHCP address change on the owner's Home Assistant instance remain acceptance checks. Android's generic hostname is not used for DHCP discovery. Display/night-mode and other gated roadmap features remain unchanged.
Requires Home Assistant 2026.9.0+. HACS uses the tagged source; the attached ZIP is for manual installation. Version 0.1.0 remains available for rollback.
Klydo Clock 0.1.0 — ADB MVP
Initial Home Assistant integration for the stock Klydo Clock, installable as a HACS custom repository.
Included
- UI setup, options, and address reconfiguration with stable device IDs.
- Next, previous, and refresh buttons.
- Connection, running/foreground, app version, and free-storage status.
- Local asynchronous ADB, bounded reconnect backoff, command serialization, and redacted diagnostics.
Install
Add https://github.com/chstech1/klydo-clock-ha in HACS → Custom repositories, choose Integration, download Klydo Clock, and restart Home Assistant. Then add Klydo Clock under Settings → Devices & services using the clock's address and ADB port (normally 1379). Requires Home Assistant 2026.9.0+.
The attached ZIP is for manual installation; extract its custom_components/klydo_clock directory into Home Assistant's configuration directory. HACS uses the tagged repository source automatically.
Validation
- 54 automated tests pass, 96% coverage, with sockets disabled.
- Ruff lint and formatting pass.
- Home Assistant 2026.9.0 Hassfest: one integration, zero invalid integrations.
- Stock Android 8.1/PX30 clock, app 623.3: 100 consecutive read-only polls and explicit disconnect/reconnect pass.
Limits
Actual HACS installation on the owner's Home Assistant instance, real device reboot/Wi-Fi-outage recovery, and upgrade/rollback across two releases still need acceptance testing. Display controls, night mode, app lifecycle, and targeted animation selection are deferred pending the source plan's validation gates. This is the initial MVP, not completion of the full roadmap.
The GitHub validation workflow is now active on the default branch, covering tests, lint, Hassfest, and HACS validation. The HACS package is public and versioned.
Network requirement: the tested clock exposes unauthenticated root ADB access. Restrict its ADB port to Home Assistant and trusted administrators; never expose it to the internet. Firewall isolation has not been independently verified.
