This config file is setup for PlayerLauncher_v1.4.3. Earlier versions will have parts not covered in this page.
You must use spaces when writing the config. Do NOT use tabs!!!
The default config file will look something like this when first generated.
Launch:
Enabled: true
Message: '&dYou have been launched. Sayonara!'
Requirement:
Amount: 1
Item: diamond
Remove-Required-Items-After-Launch: true
Delay: 5
Power: 8
Launch-Pad: Sponge
Explosions:
Enabled: true
Amount: 5
Power: 4Notation throughout the rest of this page:
- [true|false] will mean that the config setting must be true or false.
- [time] refers to the time in seconds.
- [block_type] will refer to the NAME of the block. Block ID's are invalid and will result in errors.
You can enable or disable the whole plugin. [true|false]
In the Message: '' can change the message received when a player self launches or is launched by another player.
- You can use the standard color codes numbers 0-9 and letters a-f.
- The '' must be present.
When a player uses the /launch command, you can configure them to require a specific item and amount.
- For the Item: put the [block_type], which is not case-sensitive.
- In the Amount: put any number you want. Set to 0 to disable the launch requirement entirely.
- For example, the following config setting is valid, and the requirement is 5 emeralds.
Launch:
Requirement:
Amount: 5
Item: Emerald- However, the following will throw errors, because 265 is the Item-ID for iron_ingot and not the block type.
Launch:
Requirement:
Amount: 4
Item: 265- You can also set the launch item in the game with /l item set <block_type> <amount>
- An alternate way of enabling or disabling the launch requirement is: Remove-Required-Items-After-Launch: [true|false]
This is the delay until a player becomes self-launched.
- You can set the delay as Delay: [time]. The below example will launch a player after 60 seconds, or one minute.
Launch:
[...]
Delay: 60
[...]- Alternatively, you can set the launch delay in the game, with /l delay set [time].
You can set the power of the player's launch. Higher power will result in increased height and distance.
- The default setting is 8. Higher power can result in server lag, kicked for flying, fall damage, and not launching at times.
- The following results in a launch power of 15.
Launch: [...] Power: 15 [...]
If a player has permission PlayerLauncher.launch.pad, they can launch off a certain block you set (Launch Pad).
- Ideally the launch pad shouldn't be a common block, such as STONE, or WOOD.
- With v1.4.3, Launch pads have to be set by admins in-game using /l pad.
Launch: [...] Launch-Pad: Wood_Plate
Change settings of explosive launching at your leisure to suit your needs.
- You can enable the use of explosive launching. When a player launches explosively, a TNT explosion is created. [true|false
- You can also set a required amount of TNT needed in a player's inventory to launch.
- You can customize the power of the explosive blast. 4 is normal TNT.
- The following enables explosive launching, sets the requirement to 10 and has the power of 2.5 TNT (10/4).
Launch:
[...]
Explosions:
Enabled: true
Amount: 10
Power: 10
PlayerLauncher is extremely easy to setup! There are 4 steps you must follow before you can actually use the plugin, though.
- Download any file you wish. I recommend the latest one if you are running the latest Minecraft version.
- Drag and drop this file into your server-plugins directory.
- Restart your server. While a reload would work, server reloads cause memory leaks and eventually will crash your server.
- You are good to go! 🎉
This wiki is designed to help make your life easier. After you have installed the plugin, you should look into the various commands. Start by using /launch help. As an admin, you will want to give yourself the permission PlayerLauncher.launch.admin (case-sensitive) so you can view every command.
To launch yourself, use /launch or /launch self. Just look in a direction and you will be off on your way. You can also launch other players with /launch p <playerName>.
PlayerLauncher also allows you to design launch pads. To do this, you must create a launch pad with /launch pad. You will be given a launch pad block, which is configurable and by default is a wooden plate. Place this block anywhere to create a launch pad, whose location is saved in the launchpads.yml file. I would recommend not touching this file. To delete a launch pad, go to the location and break the block. Remember, the launch pad has to be a block! In a future update, I will add an option to set the direction the launch pad will launch you in.
There are also many other features I will allow you to play around with and discover! I hope you enjoy using the plugin. If you have any requests for improvements or wish to report any bugs, I encourage you to do so in the issue tracker.
