Releases: clockwork-recompdev/clockwork
Release list
The One Before Release
Clockwork for Windows, Linux and macOS (Apple Silicon). No game is included: the launcher builds each game from a dump of your own cartridge, on your PC, which needs a C compiler (see README.txt in the package).
What's new
Game updates. Add a game's decrypted update (.cia or .cxi) next to its dump, or with Browse, and Clockwork plays the updated game. The update's code is recompiled into its own build and its files are mounted beside the cartridge's, as on a 3DS. Yo-kai Watch Blasters 2.4.0 with Moon Rabbit Crew runs. Dump an update with GodMode9: Title manager → the update → Build CIA (decrypted), or Decrypt file on an update .cia. Decrypted .cia game dumps work too.
A new launcher. Restyled after Blasters' Red Cat Corps / Moon Rabbit Crew select: deep-blue scanlines, angled panels, bevelled game cards, pointed buttons and heavy outlined lettering. It opens fullscreen (F11 for a window) and plays Blasters' menu theme, read from your own Blasters dump; or put any menu-music.wav in the data folder. Turn it off under Settings → Audio.
Title screens, automatically. Each game's card shows its real title screen, captured from your dump in the background the first time (the game runs hidden for about 15 seconds, with a throwaway save folder, so your saves are never touched). Your own titles/<game>.png still takes priority.
Menus don't zoom. In one-screen mode, menus now keep the field's layout instead of zooming in on the bottom screen. F5 brings the zoom back for a game's menus if you prefer it.
Saves, settings and mods from earlier versions carry over. Blasters is the tested game for updates and title capture; the others are new.
Clockwork v0.3.0
Clockwork for Windows, Linux and macOS (Apple Silicon). No game is included: the launcher builds each game from a dump of your own cartridge, on your PC, which needs a C compiler (see README.txt in the package).
What's new
More regions. The European, Japanese and Korean releases of Yo-kai Watch, Yo-kai Watch 2 (Bony Spirits, Fleshy Souls, Psychic Specters / Ganso, Honke, Shin'uchi), Blasters (Busters in Japan) and Yo-kai Watch 3 (including Sushi, Tempura and Sukiyaki) are now recognized. Each region builds its own game module. The console reports the dump's region to the game, and European releases are shown in the language you pick on the Library tab (English, French, German, Italian or Spanish). The USA releases are the tested ones; the other regions are new.
60 fps with frame interpolation. Turn on Frame interpolation (60 fps) in Graphics settings (GPU renderer). Each of the game's 30 fps frames gets an in-between frame, and the top screen is shown one frame per VBlank. It costs about two frames (33 ms) of delay, so it's off by default.
Widescreen HUD. HUD against a side of the screen shrinks toward that edge, and full-width bars keep their place.
Fixes. SDL's internal checks no longer pop up a "Viewport size exceeds current render target dimensions" dialog when the window resizes; they go to the log. Draws whose viewport reaches past their target are fitted to it.
Saves, settings and mods from earlier versions carry over.
Clockwork v0.2.0
Clockwork for Windows, Linux and macOS (Apple Silicon). No game is included: the launcher builds each game from a dump of your own cartridge, on your PC, which needs a C compiler (see README.txt in the package).
Clockwork v0.1.0
Clockwork's tools for Windows, Linux and macOS (Apple Silicon): ctrx, recomp and clockwork-relay. No game code or assets are included.
