Lab 01 ‐ Compartment
Compartment is a logical separation of services within a OCI Tenancy
To navigate to the compartment inside OCI tenancy
Navigation menu > Identity & Security > Compartments
- root compartment
- application compartment
- service compartment
Root compartment is the first compartment. When tenancy is created, a root compartment with the same tenancy name is automatically created. In my case ociconnect(root) is the root compartment.
Application compartment is the second layer of compartment. It is created to separate each application by its name and for ease of access to services related to a particular application. In my case hub2_compartment is the application compartment inside root compartment.

Service compartment is the third layer of compartment. It is created to separate different services for an application based on the service type. In my case hub_compute_and_storage_compartment and hub_network_compartment are service compartments inside application compartment.
