Coco Voice 0.9.2
First Coco Research signed release with working in-app auto-update. From this version onward, Coco Voice can update itself: future signed releases published here will be offered and installed automatically from within the app.
Coco Voice is a rebranded fork of the open-source Handy dictation app (MIT). The original license is retained.
Install (macOS, Apple Silicon)
Easiest — open Terminal and paste:
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/coco-research/Coco-Voice/main/install.sh | bash
That downloads this release, installs it to Applications, clears the Gatekeeper flag, and launches it. Prefer not to use Terminal? Download Install Coco Voice.command below and double-click it (if macOS blocks it, right-click → Open → Open). Or install the DMG manually and see INSTALL.md for the one-time xattr step.
This is a one-time-per-machine step because the app is ad-hoc signed rather than Apple-notarized. After the first install, updates install themselves silently. Note: the previously distributed 0.9.1 build used a different signing key and cannot auto-update to this release — install 0.9.2 once by hand, and subsequent releases update in place.
What's included
- Signed auto-update verified against a Coco Research updater key.
- Personal correction dictionary — a deterministic find-and-replace pass (for example, "cocoa" → "COCO") applied after transcription.
- Auto-learn corrections from the edits you make to entries in History.
- On-device post-processing scaffolding (Apple Intelligence). Note: this specific build was produced on a Command Line Tools-only toolchain, so the Apple Intelligence provider is compiled as a stub and does not perform live LLM cleanup in this artifact. The deterministic correction dictionary is unaffected and fully functional.
