Added

  • Profiles. More than one Hikari on the same device, from Settings → Profiles. A profile is a whole setup of its own — the extensions you have installed, your Library and its categories, your history, your accounts, your collections and every setting — so you can hand the phone to someone else, or keep a separate setup for the TV, without either one touching the other. Nothing is deleted to do it: the first profile saves what you already had, and the picker shows what each one holds. Your app lock and this device's layout belong to the device, so every profile keeps them.
  • Vega. The whole Vega provider ecosystem installs and plays here now, as a source kind of its own. A Vega provider's catalogue, search, detail page, episode list and servers all work like any other extension. Its repo is already in Sources on a fresh install, and typing vega finds it in Add repository.
  • Network streams on the IPTV tab. A link to a file on a hosting site — an m3u8, a Terabox or Telebox share, Google Drive, Pixeldrain, and any host an installed extension can open — can be added as a Network stream beside a playlist, and plays like any other source.
  • Telegram, finished. The tab has three sections — My chats, Added channels and Video links — that you can tap or swipe between. The + adds either a channel or a single t.me video link; a saved link keeps playing months later; adding one leaves you on the section you added to; and Back steps out of a chat or a channel before it leaves the tab.
  • A genre strip on Home and on Search. One shared list — TMDB's film and television names plus 99 anime and manga tags like Isekai, Shounen, Mecha and Slice of Life — that you can pick from before searching, multi-select, with the counts of what it hid. Search also has an Anime chip beside Movies and Series.
  • Recent searches. The Search tab remembers the queries that actually ran, newest first. Tap one to run it again, ✕ to forget it, Clear all for the lot.
  • Narrow a search that asked every source down to one engine, without searching again — a chip per engine that answered, carrying its number of hits, sits above the results.
  • Narrow the player's subtitle search to one language, remembered for next time.
  • Extensions now say which repository they came from — AniKoto · Hikari · CNC Verse instead of AniKoto · Hikari — in the installed list, the Home picker and every repo listing.
  • A repo's row can be copied with one tap on the Extensions screen, so its URL can be shared or pasted on another device.
  • The Home search box searches without leaving Home, over whatever is on screen, using the provider Home is already showing.
  • One switch hides every explanation line in the app — Settings → App Layout → Explanations.
  • The WebView's ⋯ menu can allow the redirect it just blocked, one tap putting that host on the allowed list and opening the page; and an allowed redirect can now be a single word (filester) as well as a host.
  • New sources ready to go: the Anime-Nuvio and Hindi-Nuvio bundles join the other Nuvio repos on a fresh install, and one Stremio subtitle addon is set up so the player's subtitle search has somewhere to look from the start.
  • Catalogue pages look the way Nuvio lays one out — three columns on a phone, a card per tile, the title and a quieter year-and-genre line under each poster, and a skeleton grid while the first page arrives.

Changed

  • A new install opens in AMOLED Black. True black draws nothing behind the UI, so on the OLED screen every phone and television Hikari runs on, every pixel that is not content is off. Hikari Dark, Dark Glass UI and Hikari Light are all still in Settings → Appearance & Theme, and a theme you have picked stays picked.
  • A new install's player wears the Minimal UI, and the Telegram tab is shown from the start. Both can be changed back in Settings.
  • Nothing is installed for you on a fresh install. The repos are seeded; which providers and extensions to install is your choice.

Fixed

  • Servers arrive much sooner. A search no longer asks the same extension twice for one title, and a CloudStream extension's servers appear as soon as it hands the first one over instead of when its whole extraction has finished. A stream lookup is also no longer held behind a background search — it waits two seconds at most.
  • The Extensions tab no longer stutters, and a fast scroll no longer drags the app down with it. Repository labels, the update check and row icons are no longer redone while the list is being drawn, and opening the provider picker on Home is instant.
  • Tapping the settings gear on an extension whose settings screen uses CloudStream's own API no longer kills the app.
  • Manga chapters load again. Details and chapters are now asked for the way a modern extension answers them, so the "HTTP error 404" chapter list is gone — and a manga catalogue, search or chapter list that needs a browser session now gets one by itself, instead of waiting for you to open the site once by hand.
  • Aniyomi/Mihon repos that publish only a protobuf index now list their extensions.
  • On a television, a detail page no longer takes the app down with it. Engines are sized to the box, so a TV stick with 1–1.5GB of RAM stops freezing and being killed while a detail page's episodes load; the poster cache is actually handed back when the TV asks for memory; and a television no longer inherits a phone's video-enhance preset, which is what made the picture stutter.
  • A television remote reaches everything again: the rows of the Extensions tab, with the highlight showing where you are; every "pick one" panel, starting with the app language; and a provider on Home and on the Read tab.
  • "Could not save the file" in Settings → Logs & diagnostics is gone. Logs save into Downloads/Hikari like every other file the app saves, and a failure now says why.
  • Telegram no longer claims a group or a channel has no videos. Those are read with your own account when you are signed in, which is the only reader that sees every post — and the chat list now loads all of your chats instead of the first hundred.
  • The Add to library sheet is tappable on a phone — tapping a category ticks and unticks it, instead of only answering a TV remote.
  • A crash while scrolling a list of extensions is gone.
  • Restoring a backup no longer drops settings — hidden tabs, switched-off extensions and the sources you allow come back with everything else.
  • The bundled YTS extension is gone. It never had a catalogue or anything to browse, so it was a row that could only waste a tap.
  • The player's subtitle and colour panels fit a short screen again. They are measured against the room the window actually has and scroll when there is more, instead of being cut off at the bottom in landscape — and dragging on the colour picker's square or its strips changes the colour instead of scrolling the box.
  • A folder tile is one box again, and its corner can no longer cut into the cover's lettering, so a wordmark cover reads whole.
