What's new in 0.3.65

  • Play from any server, from any repo — Hikari now collects every server a title is available on and puts them all in one list, so you can pick any of them no matter which repo or extension it came from. One combined server list, one tap.
  • Two repos now come pre-loaded — a fresh install already has the Hikari Extensions repo and the Codegeasse CloudStream repo added, so you can install extensions right away without pasting a URL first. (If you remove one it stays removed — we only add them on the very first run.)
  • Buffering fixed — streams that used to stop and spin halfway through should now keep playing:
    • The player buffers much further ahead (up to ~2.5 minutes of runway instead of ~50 seconds) whenever the source is fast enough, so a short dip in server speed no longer drains the buffer and shows the spinner.
    • A single dropped or hung connection no longer kills playback — it quietly reconnects and carries on from where it stopped, while links that are actually dead (expired/403) fail over to the next server straight away.
    • The Wi-Fi/CPU is kept awake during playback, so long videos don't stall when the device tries to sleep.
  • Optimizations — finding a server and playing a server now share one connection pool, so the connection opened while Hikari was looking for sources is reused for the first bytes of video (no second handshake), and segment downloads run in parallel instead of queuing. Startup is snappier and replays come up faster.
  • Expired links heal themselves — providers hand out signed links that stop working after a while. If every server you were given has gone stale, Hikari now quietly fetches a fresh set and keeps going instead of showing "playback failed".
  • Archive links are skipped — some providers hand out .zip/.rar files that aren't videos at all; those no longer get picked as your first server and waste a failed attempt.
  • The server list stays live — if a repo is added, it shows up in the Extensions screen immediately, no restart needed.
