Plan usage and accounts

Settings shows how much of each plan allowance a harness account has used and when it resets, for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor Agent, Gemini CLI and an OpenCode Go key. Claude Code on macOS reads its sign-in from the Keychain. The account picker shows the same numbers for every account, so you can switch to one that still has room.

A harness account can now sign in and out from Settings. Codex, Claude Code and Cursor Agent open the browser themselves; the terminal command stays as a fallback. Signing out asks first, and says when it signs the CLI out on the whole computer.

A Claude plan's banked resets show under its usage, with a button that spends one after you confirm. Orglet never spends one on its own.

In the chat

A small ring under the message box shows how close the chat is to a limit: the plan allowance of its account, or the model's context window. It turns amber from 80% and red when the plan runs out, and offers another account with room. Click it for the context used, how Orglet trims long chats, and each allowance with its reset time.

A crew's answer shows its plan as a flow: the lead's split, the members side by side or in order, and the lead combining the results, each with its live state.

Model pickers name real versions (Opus 5.5, GPT-6-Astra) with each maker's mark, put a Default badge on the model the CLI runs when none is chosen, and keep older models under More models. The names come from the CLIs and the vendors' own model lists.

Terminal

The orglet command can create, edit and delete orglets and crews from keyboard forms, opens a menu on the highlighted chat, shows each step with its time, and asks for Ctrl+C twice before leaving.

Known gaps

Cursor Agent keeps one sign-in per computer, so several Cursor accounts in Orglet share it. Usage from Cursor Agent, Gemini CLI and OpenCode Go has only been checked against their services' shapes, not yet on a signed-in account.

Crew answers now translate the core error inside an unfinished-role note in English. Refused memory, app-change and self-improvement proposal notes also translate their core errors, while preserving model-written text.

xAI turns no longer fail before generation because of an unsupported Unicode regex in the settings-proposal tool schema. Font names are still validated locally before a proposal is accepted.

The install docs now describe signed Windows releases, and the verification record separates local package checks from clean-machine installation and live-provider coverage.

Other platforms

The macOS ZIP is for Apple silicon (arm64), signed with Developer ID, notarized and stapled; CI verified its signature and Gatekeeper acceptance. The Linux ZIP is for x64 and passed the packaged desktop smoke on Ubuntu CI. Linux remains experimental and does not update automatically. Both files come from green CI builds of the same tagged commit as the Windows files. An Intel macOS download is not included in this release.

Orglet 0.7.1

Windows builds are now signed with the maintainer's Certum code signing certificate. This patch keeps the app behavior from 0.7.0.

Windows may still show a SmartScreen warning while the certificate builds its reputation. Check that the publisher is Open Source Developer Xuan An Nguyen before choosing More info > Run anyway.

New

• Tacet, CodePawl's small decision model, can now run on your computer. Turn it on in Settings → Chat. It downloads once (about 300 MB from Hugging Face), runs on the CPU and sends nothing anywhere. Orglet works the same without it. When it is on:
  • An hourly schedule stays quiet unless a run finds something new.
  • If a message seems to need the web, a working folder or Orglet's browser and the chat does not have it, the message box says so and links to the setting. Nothing turns on by itself.
  • A group-chat message with no @ goes to the one orglet it clearly fits, and the message says who was picked. When Tacet is not sure, everyone answers as before.
  • Library notes that fit the message load even when they share no keyword with it. Details shows why each note loaded.
  • A click or key press in Orglet's browser or a desktop app that looks like it sends, pays, deletes or publishes something asks you first, even where Orglet's own rules would let it through. Tacet can add a question but never skips one.
• When a new version of Orglet has downloaded, an Update button appears next to Settings and in Notifications. One click restarts into it, and Orglet asks first if orglets are still working.

Steadier day to day

• A failed update check shows the reason in plain words instead of a stack trace, and Orglet keeps an updater.log in its data folder.

New

• Orglets can read web pages in a browser Orglet runs for them, and click and type on a page. Before sending a form, paying or deleting anything, they ask you. You can watch the page inside Orglet, take over, or open it in Chrome.
• Orglets can use the Windows apps you grant them, through Windows UI Automation, without taking your mouse.
• When an orglet changes files in your working folder, the changes wait for you. Check the diff, then apply or discard each file.
• In the working folder, orglets can now create folders, move, rename and delete files, and run the scripts in package.json.
• You can forward a message to another orglet, crew or chat, with a note if you like.
• You can edit what you attached: text and code, marks on an image, or drawing and typed notes on a PDF. Your file stays as it was, and the edit is saved as a new version in the chat.
• Schedules can run every few hours or on weekdays, with a daily cost cap. A schedule can have its own working folder, you can run or delete it from its card, and a failed run tells you.
• Orglets read attached PDFs, and see attached images when the model can.
• Web search goes through Exa by default. DuckDuckGo is still an option.
• Search finds any message or answer, not only the first message of a chat.
• The data check says what each column holds and flags repeated rows, negative numbers and dates that do not exist.
• A Demo chat has a Connect a model button that takes you straight to setting one up.

Steadier day to day

• When a tool call fails, for example writing a file that already exists or using a tool the chat does not allow, the orglet is told and tries again. The turn keeps going and the chat does not lock.
• The chat stays at the newest message and scrolls to any card that needs you.
• Words and files you have not sent stay in the message box when you switch chats or restart, and Orglet reopens the chat you were in.
• Archived chats have their own list, archiving can be undone, and an archived chat opens read-only with a Restore button.
• Claude Code and Codex plan usage stays on screen between sign-in renewals, and "ran out" shows only when a plan limit is actually hit.
• A backup restores after you delete chat history, and restoring on a new computer no longer duplicates orglets.
• Keyboard focus stays in the message box after you send, and goes back where it was when a dialog closes.
• Side-thread notifications are grouped, and a paused crew looks paused.
• Stopping a run on a free local model no longer leaves a charge to reconcile.

Easier to read

• The default blue is a little darker, so white text on buttons and unread badges is readable (4.5:1 contrast, up from 3.9:1). If you never picked an accent colour, you get the new blue. A colour you picked stays.
• Other accent colours that are too light for white text now get dark text on their buttons and badges.
• @ mentions in a chat are easier to read in both light and dark themes.

Smaller fixes

• The code font menu in Settings no longer cuts off "JetBrains Mono". "(default)" now shows only inside the open menu.
• When an orglet with a long name is working, the bar at the top shortens the name first, so you can still read what it is doing. Hover the name to see all of it.
• In a pending memory or skill, Approve and Reject float on a blurred bar at the bottom, and the fields scroll under it. The whole Scope field is visible when the dialog opens.

MCP servers

Add MCP servers in Settings → MCP, either a command that runs on your computer or an https address, then pick which ones each orglet may use in its Permissions tab. That is how an orglet reaches GitHub, Linear, Notion, Slack or anything else with an MCP server.

Every tool call asks first: allow it once, always for that tool, or always for that server in this chat. Tokens and secret values are encrypted on your computer and never shown again. Orglet does not read the MCP settings of other apps; you add servers yourself, or import a file you choose. How it works: mcp.md.

More ways to run an orglet

• Any OpenAI-compatible server. Settings → API connections → Add connection takes a name, an address and an optional key: LM Studio, Groq, DeepSeek, Mistral, a company proxy. A server on your own computer or network counts as free. For a hosted one you can enter its price per million tokens so costs add up.
• Gemini CLI. Orglets can run on the Google account you already use with the gemini command, next to Claude Code, Codex and Cursor Agent. Like the others, it gets no tools of its own; files, commands and web reads go through Orglet's permissions.
• Bigger crews. A crew can now have up to 8 orglets, and you can run up to 8 requests at a time per connection.

Several things at once

• Side threads. In an orglet's chat, press Ctrl+Shift+Enter (or pick Send in a new thread) and that message runs in its own thread while the main chat stays free. The thread reads the last few turns of the main chat and uses the same permissions, never more. When it finishes, Bring into main chat copies the answer back as a quote.
• Running. A new Running button in the sidebar lists every turn that is running, queued or waiting for you, across all chats. It shows who is ahead in each queue and what each run costs so far. You can stop, pause or open any of them from there.
• Schedules that react. A schedule can now start when a new file lands in a folder you choose, with that file attached, or only when you call it with orglet run "<schedule>". Timed schedules work as before.

From outside Orglet

• Send to. Select files in File Explorer, right-click, Send to → Orglet (on Windows 11 it is under Show more options), and pick an orglet, crew or recent chat. The files wait in the message box until you press Send.
• Links. orglet://chat/Researcher opens a chat and orglet://new?to=Researcher&text=hello fills in a message without sending it.

Both are set up when Setup installs or updates Orglet and removed when you uninstall it. Settings → About can turn Send to off.

Smaller fixes

• Faces in the sidebar sit centred on their names.
• The Permissions list in an orglet's settings has room between rows, and the auto-apply switch now sits with the others.
• A chat started from the terminal opens in the window when you are looking at that orglet's empty chat.
• A few error messages that stayed in Vietnamese in the English interface are now translated.
• Tables in answers have a shaded header and striped rows, and their columns line up.
• Long names in the sidebar are no longer cut short by a hidden menu button.
• Escape closes a dialog again when focus is on a disclosure button.
• API connections that are switched off stay readable, and their switch no longer looks disabled.
• Settings descriptions fit on one line, small text meets contrast, and "1 replies" reads "1 reply".

Chat with your orglets in the terminal

Type orglet in a new terminal and pick an orglet or crew with the arrow keys. Each one shows as a small face in its own colour, and the face blinks and looks around while it works. Answers wrap to your terminal, with headings, code and lists kept readable.

/to switches chat, /read shows the last answer again, /open jumps to the chat in the app, and Tab completes names. Ctrl+C stops waiting; the orglet keeps working in the app. orglet send, list and read still work in scripts, and --json or a pipe gives plain output.

Rename from the chat header

Hover the orglet's or crew's name at the top of a chat and it turns into a field. Click, type, then press Enter or click away to save. Escape leaves it as it was.

Settings

• The font picker says what your computer actually draws: SF Pro where it is installed, Inter where it is not. The sample underneath is marked Preview.
• Dropdowns with an icon line their text up, so the Logo color row no longer looks lopsided.
• The face in About says hi when you open the tab, follows your pointer and hops when you click it.
• What is new shows only what changed in each release, without the install notes repeated every time.
• The community links fit on one row.

Library

Pending review, Approved and Memory each start with a small round mark: yellow, green and a brain.

orglet is on your PATH without a click

Setup now puts the orglet command on your PATH when it installs or updates Orglet, the way VS Code's installer does. After this update, open a new terminal and orglet status works. A terminal that was already open still has the old PATH.

It only touches your own user PATH. If you would rather not have it, Settings → About → Remove from PATH takes it off, and later updates leave it off. Uninstalling Orglet now removes the PATH entry too; in 0.3.0 it stayed behind.

orglet in your terminal

Orglet now comes with a command you can run from any terminal. It talks to the app on your computer, so your keys, chats and files stay where they were.

orglet send "summarize this" --to Researcher --file notes.md

That sends the message into Researcher's chat, waits, and prints the answer. orglet read, orglet list, orglet status and orglet open do what their names say, and --json makes the output easy to use in a script. If Orglet is not running, the command starts it.

Turn it on in Settings → About → Add to PATH, then open a new terminal. It only changes your own user PATH, and Remove from PATH undoes it. The command can send messages and read answers. It cannot grant folders, touch keys or settings, or delete anything. How it works: cli.md.

Emoji in the message box

Type :sk and a small menu offers the emoji whose names fit, 💀 first. A full name like :fire: turns into 🔥 as soon as you type the closing colon. The menu only opens at the start of a message or after a space, and only when something matches, so 10:30 and links stay as you typed them.

Signing in to Claude Code, Codex and Cursor Agent

The sign-in command in Settings → Local harnesses was broken in PowerShell. It now comes in a form for PowerShell, Command Prompt and Git Bash. Pick your terminal on the command card and Orglet remembers the choice. Each form was run in its real shell before this release.

Renaming or switching a harness account used to take three or four seconds, because every CLI was checked again. It now takes a few milliseconds.

The harness row itself is tidier: one column, the version next to the name, and the command on a card with its copy button.
