Release list
Wake 0.4.2
Wake 0.4.2
Installers, same as before:
- Wake-Setup.exe for Windows (per user, no administrator rights; SmartScreen may warn because it is unsigned)
- Wake-.dmg for macOS (open it, right-click Install Wake, choose Open)
- wake__all.deb for Debian, Ubuntu and Mint; wake-install.sh for any other Linux or a Mac
- Wake-Setup.ps1 for scripted Windows installs
Installed copies update themselves.
What is new since 0.4.1:
- The stage: floating windows beside the panel where Wake shows what it is talking about. A news report plays muted while Wake narrates, a scoreboard appears during sports talk, the headlines sit beside the panel while they are read. Say "play it out loud", "mute that", "pause", "louder", "close the stage". Each kind of content gets a window sized for it, panes stay above other windows and never under the panel, and they close themselves when done.
- Live scores and highlights: "what were the Premier League scores?" draws the scoreboard and plays the highlights. Premier League, Champions League, NPFL, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, Europa League, AFCON, World Cup, Championship, MLS, NBA, NFL and ATP, with no key.
- "Show me what you can do": opens the stage with today's scores and a clip, then Wake glides its own cursor onto the clip to pause and play it.
- Wake's own cursor on Linux: a second X11 pointer with the Wake label, so the user's mouse is never touched.
- The screen as data: clickable things are named with their coordinates (the stage's own controls, the accessibility tree), so Wake clicks "Play" by name and text-only models can act too.
- Question cards: when Wake needs a decision it asks aloud and shows the choices as buttons, and waits. Reminders, new mail and check-ins that end in a question now open the microphone for the answer instead of going back to sleep.
- Reminders understand plain times ("in 20 minutes", "tonight", "before I sleep"), read the time from any field the model used or from the conversation, and never fail silently.
- Fixes: looking at the screen works on every provider; browser hints only match real browsers (a settings panel once matched "default browser"); panel text never overflows; cards and suggestions fenced as json still work; spoken times always carry AM or PM.
Wake 0.4.1
Wake 0.4.1
Installers, same as 0.4.0:
- Wake-Setup.exe for Windows (per user, no administrator rights; SmartScreen may warn because it is unsigned)
- Wake-.dmg for macOS (open it, right-click Install Wake, choose Open)
- wake__all.deb for Debian, Ubuntu and Mint; wake-install.sh for any other Linux or a Mac
- Wake-Setup.ps1 for scripted Windows installs
Installed copies update themselves.
What is new since 0.4.0:
- The news: "what's the news?" reads today's real headlines for where you live, or any topic, like a newsreader, and "tell me more" opens the story from the publisher and retells it
- Stories and jokes with feeling: stories get an arc and character voices, jokes get a pause before the punchline, and both are read aloud in full; the natural voice acts out cues like softly, whispers, excited and laughs, and the free voice changes pitch, pace and volume to match
- More conversational: follow-up questions, keeping the thread, and real chat when you just want to talk
- Suggestions from the model: the empty panel offers starters written for the time of day and what Wake knows about you, and every reply ends with follow-up buttons
- Chat controls in the panel: start a new chat to clear the context, or delete the current one
- The orb carries the new Vorynza mark, and its spark flicks each time Wake wakes
- Fixes: proactive check-ins work on Groq again; invented voice cues are never read aloud
Wake 0.4.0
Wake 0.4.0
Installers for every system, built from one bundle:
- Wake-Setup.exe for Windows (per user, no administrator rights; SmartScreen may warn because it is unsigned)
- Wake-.dmg for macOS (new and untested: open it, right-click Install Wake, choose Open)
- wake__all.deb for Debian, Ubuntu and Mint; wake-install.sh for any other Linux or a Mac
- Wake-Setup.ps1 still works for scripted Windows installs
What is new since 0.3.0:
- Product coaching: Wake walks a new user through Tally or Timklock hands-on, with practice accounts, demos and checks; packs install from a pack channel
- Provider health: every provider and its top models are probed ahead of time, timed, and checked for vision; failover hops past dead providers and flaky models within one turn
- Eight brains: OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq, Mistral, Gemini, SambaNova, OpenRouter, NVIDIA, Cohere, Ollama, plus the no-key service
- Listening: Groq Whisper when a Groq key exists, adaptive voice match, instant acknowledgements while an answer is coming, and the first sentence spoken as soon as it arrives
- Web workspace (React) alongside the native panel; the expand button offers either
- Skills, MCP connectors, an orchestrator for small models, email and people memory, projects as folders
- Fuller wake chime, settings layout fixes, many smaller repairs
Wake 0.3.0
Wake only shows Listening once its name is confirmed, plays a launch chime and orb bloom, model picker is a real dropdown, asks where you are for weather, remembers facts, morning briefing, voice preview play/stop with debounce, Gemini and Groq tool-call fixes
Wake 0.2.2
Settings now loads each provider's real models into a dropdown, picks the best automatically, and recovers if a model is retired. Fixes Gemini, Groq and OpenRouter 'doesn't have the model' errors.
Wake 0.2.1
Wake keeps working by typing when the sound system isn't responding.
Wake 0.2.0
First release. One-file Windows installer, free or paid AI, configurable name and voice, self-updating.
