Common Toolkit

Common Toolkit is a library mod for NeoForge with shared infrastructure for other mods: dynamic JSON-driven registries with client sync, data-driven gear sets and brewing mixes, networking and registration helpers, creative-tab filling, menu/screen/codec utilities and a few debugging commands. On its own it adds no content; install it when another mod requires it.

Common Toolkit is a rewrite/port of Placebo by Shadows_of_Fire (MIT License) under a new mod id, package and API. It is not a drop-in replacement for Placebo. The original's Patreon cosmetic system was removed. See Credits and license.

What is the same everywhere

The features, data formats, commands and config are the same in every build. The legacy 26.2 betas have exactly the same source as the current 26.2 build (26.2.0.57).

What changes between builds

  • Minecraft API names: the 26.2 builds use Minecraft's newer names, the 1.21.1 build the older ones. The most visible for users of the API: Identifier (26.2) vs ResourceLocation (1.21.1), and ItemStackTemplate (26.2) vs ItemStack (1.21.1) in item codecs such as WeightedItemStack. OptionalTemplateCodec exists only on 26.2.
  • Java: 21 for 1.21.1, 25 for 26.2.
