Windows Installer Redesign

The Windows installer has been completely redesigned with a cleaner interface, a simpler installation process, and full Arabic right-to-left support

New Features

• One-screen installation — Accept the terms and click Install to set up Compass without administrator privileges
• Customize Installation — Choose the installation folder, create a desktop shortcut, and decide whether to launch Compass when setup finishes
• What's New panel — View Beta and Stable release notes directly inside the installer
• Automatic language detection — Follows your Windows language, with support for English, Portuguese, Russian, and Arabic
• Automatic installation detection — Detects existing installations and automatically handles updates, repairs, and downgrades

Reliability Improvements

• Failed installations now explain what went wrong and provide options to retry or copy the details
• Prevents the installer from closing while files are being written, avoiding incomplete installations
• Desktop shortcuts are created by default and can be disabled through Customize Installation

Design Improvements

• Compass branding and icon throughout the installer, its window, and the uninstaller, replacing the old boat icon
• Full Arabic right-to-left layout support
• Installer interface reduced in size by approximately 3 MB

Note: You'll see the redesigned installer when installing or repairing Compass. In-app updates continue to work as usual

Compass v0.9.134

What's new

• Skip intro and credits keeps working. Compass now talks to TheIntroDB's current API (v4). The old version is switched off on 18 January 2027, so older builds would have lost TheIntroDB timings after that date. If you added your own TheIntroDB key in Settings, it is sent in the new format automatically.
• New Discord invite. The Join button on the account page and the installer now open the new Compass Discord server.

• New loading screen. Loading screens now show the Compass logo instead of the old boat animation. This covers connecting to a stream, auto-play, the stream list and the addons page.

Compass v0.9.132: first release under the new name (formerly Harbor)

Compass: a desktop client for the Stremio protocol

Formerly Harbor. Harbor has been renamed to Compass. It's the same app under a new name, and this is its first release as Compass. If you used Harbor before, this is the version to download from now on.

Compass is a fast, customizable desktop client that works with your existing Stremio account and addons. Setup takes about two minutes, and most of it is optional.

What you get

• Your library, untouched. Sign in with Stremio and your library, watch progress and addons sync in as they are.
• Two home layouts. Pick Compass curated (hero, Top 10, Trending, in theaters, per-service rails) or Classic Stremio (Continue Watching, then your addon catalogs in install order). You can switch any time in Settings.
• A real player. Built-in mpv playback with shaders, subtitle controls and per-language audio/subtitle preferences.
• Tracker sync. Connect Trakt, Simkl, AniList, MyAnimeList or Letterboxd.
• Make it yours. Themes, a theme studio, card badges, hotkeys, controller and remote support, and a big-screen mode.
• Many languages, including full Arabic and right-to-left support.
• Quiet by design. No telemetry, no accounts on our servers, no bundled API keys. You stay in control of every key.

Install

1. Download the Windows installer (.exe) from Assets below.
2. Run it and follow the steps.
3. Sign in with your Stremio account, or skip and add addons later.

Requirements: Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.

Known limitations

• Windows may show a SmartScreen warning ("Windows protected your PC"), because this installer isn't code-signed yet. Choose More info → Run anyway.
• Extension support is not included in this build.
• Windows x64 only for now.
