Excel Actions

These buttons work on whatever cells you have currently selected in your Excel worksheet. Keep Excel open, and select your PMID cells. Do not enter cell edit mode.

While Pub-Xel is working, don’t click in Excel until it finishes.

Import PubMed Data

Role: Pull article info from PubMed into your worksheet.

1. Select cells with PMIDs (the Ref column).
2. Click Import PubMed Data.

Title, journal, abstract, citation, and other enabled columns are filled in for you.

Check if Files Exist

Role: Show which PMIDs already have a PDF in your library.

1. Select PMID cells.
2. Click Check if Files Exist.

Cells with a matching PMID.pdf (e.g., 33301246.pdf) in Main library turn blue.
