Checksums: SHA256SUMS.txt below.
First-Run Notes
vectile is unsigned. It's safe and open source.
- Windows: SmartScreen → More info → Run anyway, or unblock the
.exein Properties. - macOS: right-click → Open, or
xattr -d com.apple.quarantinethe.app. - Linux:
chmod +xthe AppImage; the.debpulls GTK4, WebKitGTK 6.0, andlibgomp1.
Older PCs
Normal builds need AVX2 (Intel Haswell 2013+, AMD Excavator 2015+). Older CPUs need the
legacy build: same app, any 64-bit CPU, but never install both.
K-quant models (BGE-M3, BGE Small Q4_K_M, all-MiniLM Q4_K_M) are about 17x slower there.
Pick BGE Small EN v1.5 Q8_0 in Settings; it runs at about half speed.

First-Run Notes
vectile is unsigned, so first launch may warn you - it's safe and open source.
- Windows: SmartScreen → More info → Run anyway (or unblock the
.exein Properties). - macOS: right-click the app → Open (or
xattr -d com.apple.quarantineon the.app). - Linux: the AppImage needs
chmod +x; the.debpulls GTK4/WebKitGTK 6.0 +libgomp1automatically.
Older PCs
The normal Windows builds need a CPU with AVX2 (Intel Haswell, 2013+, or AMD Excavator, 2015+).
On anything older use the legacy installer or zip, which run on any 64-bit CPU. They are the
same app, so installing one over the normal build just replaces it; do not install both.
It is slower, and mostly on the quantized models: BGE-M3, BGE Small Q4_K_M and all-MiniLM
Q4_K_M are roughly 17x slower, because they are K-quant models that need AVX2 to be fast.
The recommended BGE Small EN v1.5 Q8_0 is only about half speed, so pick that one in
Settings on an old machine and expect a slow first index.
