MagicWall can now animate the lock screen, on macOS 26 or later.

  • Lock screen wallpaper — a new wallpaper extension plugs MagicWall into macOS's own wallpaper pipeline: pick MagicWall under "Screen Saver…" in System Settings → Wallpaper and your videos play on the lock screen, with the native unlock transition and no grey flash.
  • Settings → General gained a "Lock screen" card: it reports whether MagicWall is your screen saver, names the video in use and opens the right pane. The app cannot set it for you — the system's wallpaper store reverts outside writes within a second, so the picker stays in System Settings.
  • The library is mirrored for the extension with hard links: no extra disk space, and it follows imports, renames and deletions.
  • Inert on macOS 15–25: the extension is simply never loaded there and the desktop engine is unchanged.

Requires macOS 15 or later (lock screen needs macOS 26 or later).
