• macOS over SSH: clearer keychain errors. macOS keeps the login keychain locked in an SSH login, so no keychain prompt can appear there. kc used to tell you to choose "Always Allow" anyway. It now reports the keychain as locked and tells you to run kc in a Terminal on the Mac, or to run security unlock-keychain ~/Library/Keychains/login.keychain-db in the SSH session first.
• rustls 0.23.46. Fixes RUSTSEC-2026-0346, -0347, -0348 and -0349 in the TLS client kc uses to reach the relay.
• OS error details no longer end in a doubled period.

Scripts and agents: in an SSH login on macOS, errSecInteractionNotAllowed (-25308) now exits 4 (keychain unavailable) instead of 5 (interaction required). Running kc again in the same SSH session can't help, so 4 is the honest answer; Windows SSH key logins already exit 4.

Linux users of kc sync should upgrade. v0.3.0–v0.3.2 passed the confirmation text to pkcheck --detail, which polkit 121+ rejects from unprivileged callers, so kc sync add, review and resolve always failed before asking for a password. kc now prints what is being confirmed on the terminal, and the polkit prompt shows its generic "run a program as another user" text.

Known limitations

• Downgrading to v0.3.0/v0.3.1 drops the new unbind_watch bookkeeping in sync.json; records it was tracking may stay in the keychain. The state file itself stays readable.
• kc sync rm keeps the removed item's vid binding records on purpose, so a re-added item can't have an old vid reused with a different value.

• Messages and kc --help in 7 more languages: Korean, Japanese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Spanish, French and German. kc follows the system language at a terminal; set KC_LANG (for example KC_LANG=ko) to choose one.
• When kc isn't running at a terminal and KC_LANG isn't set, kc stays in English, so scripts and agents see the same output as before.

Known limits

• Sas::fmt (its join) and the typo handling when parsing a code (code.rs) leave copies of strings that aren't zeroized. This kc-proto code dates from v0.1 and will be fixed in a later release.
