Recognizable WordPress updates

• New: German and English banners in the WordPress version-details dialog, in standard and high resolution.
• Improved: Shared deckerweb updater API v2 supports optional icons and banners and coexists with plugins still using v1. Artwork is bundled locally; release caching and package safeguards remain in place.
• Fixed: The Daily Scripture icon now appears in update offers, including cached offers.
• Misc: Version 0.16.3 was a local intermediate build and is not published separately. All its changes are included here. Update directly from 0.16.2 or earlier; no intermediate installation is required.

Download daily-scripture-0.16.4.zip below for WordPress installation. Icons and banners become available after installing this version; the initial update offer from an older installed version may still use the placeholder artwork.

Validation: PHP/JavaScript syntax, WordPress Coding Standards, ZIP structure, 35 artwork checks and 41 updater checks passed. German and English banners were visually checked in WordPress 6.8.3 / PHP 8.2.27.

Daily Scripture zeigt sein Logo jetzt bei Plugin-Updates und ein passendes deutsches oder englisches Banner im Versionsdialog. Die gemeinsame Updater-Bibliothek V2 unterstützt beide Bildtypen, ohne zusätzliche externe Bildabfragen. Bestehende Cache- und Paketprüfungen bleiben erhalten.

0.16.3 wird als separates Release übersprungen. Sämtliche Änderungen sind in 0.16.4 enthalten. Du kannst direkt von 0.16.2 oder älter aktualisieren. Die neuen Bilder greifen nach der Installation; beim ersten Update kann noch der bisherige Platzhalter erscheinen.

Daily Scripture now follows the documentation structure used by Brand Admin Schemes 0.16.2.

• Improved: Rebuilt all four readmes with a clear feature overview, linked contents, seven quick answers and the latest five versions.
• Improved: Added English and German GitHub banners, detailed bilingual guides, 35 FAQ answers per language and complete changelogs.
• Improved: Added a language-aware documentation link to every plugin admin footer; the changelog dialog keeps the full local history.
• Misc: Bundled the documentation locally. The shared deckerweb GitHub updater is unchanged.

Installation and updates

Download daily-scripture-0.16.2.zip below, or update an active installation of 0.16.0 or later through the regular WordPress update system. No extra updater plugin is required. Settings and installed texts are preserved.

Requires WordPress 6.6+, PHP 8.0+ and DOM/XML; ZIP imports require ZipArchive. Plugin code: GPL-2.0-or-later. Bible texts and annual packages are not bundled and retain their separate terms.

Daily Scripture 0.16.1

Daily Bible readings, styled for your WordPress website.

This first public release includes official daily verse pairs from Die Losungen and Bible 2.0, an independent library of four German Bible editions, Gutenberg blocks, Elementor widgets, Bricks elements, shortcodes, ten layouts, live previews and a compact dashboard widget.

Installation

Download daily-scripture-0.16.1.zip below and install it through WordPress → Plugins → Add Plugin → Upload Plugin. Existing active installations of 0.16.0 can receive this release through the bundled deckerweb GitHub updater; older versions require a manual ZIP update.

Requires WordPress 6.6+, PHP 8.0+ and DOM/XML; ZIP imports require ZipArchive. Tested locally with WordPress 6.8.3 and PHP 8.2.27. Versions below 1.0 remain in the initial development phase.

• Misc: Added explicit GPL-2.0-or-later licensing, the complete license file and publication metadata.
