defaults and limits
Every default value and hard limit in one place. Where a range is given, the value is configurable within it.
Settings opens on an overview of every page, grouped into six rubrics; the sidebar holds the
same list. Each page has an address of its own — /settings/bandwidth, /settings/usenet — so
one can be bookmarked or linked to.
| Group | Pages |

| Downloads | Hotfolders · LinkGrabber · Storage & rules · Post-processing · Bandwidth · Unattended operation |
| Sources & protocols | Services · Accounts · Captcha & solver · Site rules · Usenet · BitTorrent · Media · FTP, SFTP, WebDAV & S3 |
| Integrations | Plugins · Tools · Notifications · Clients & API |
| Network & security | Network · Security |
| Administration | Backup & restore · System · About rDownloader |
A page name is used throughout this handbook as Settings → <page>. An address that names no page opens the overview.

All four are on Settings → Tools: the lookup on the tab Paths, the rest on Managed tools.
Version floors are on External tools.
Four things are deliberately held in memory only, and are gone after a restart:
- A waiting captcha. The download behind it returns to the queue and raises a fresh challenge.
- A request to take a session over from the browser. Ask again with Take over from browser.
- An active IP block. The first free link of that hoster is tried once more and re-arms the block if the hoster still refuses.
- The event stream's replay buffer. A client that reconnects within it is handed what it missed; after a restart there is nothing to replay, and the client is told so.
