The build no longer embeds Android Gradle Plugin's dependency metadata in the APK. That block is an inventory of the libraries used, encrypted so that only Google can read it, and it exists for Play Console's vulnerability scanning; in a build distributed anywhere else it is 5.8 KB of content nobody can review. Removing it is also what lets F-Droid accept the APK, since their scanner rejects opaque extra blocks in the signing area.

Which build to download

Twig-1.8.5-libre.apk is free software throughout, and is what F-Droid builds. Twig-1.8.5-full.apk adds read-only RAR support through junrar, which is under the UnRAR licence and is not free software — see LICENSE-EXCEPTIONS.md. The flavours differ in RAR alone.

Both carry arm64-v8a and x86_64, and both are signed with the same key, so either installs over the other without uninstalling.
