Twig 1.11.1
Fixed: the app could freeze and be killed after an SSH session reconnected — a few scrolls in htop were enough.
Fixed: SSH connections sent no keepalives at all, so idle terminals and SFTP transfers were dropped by the first impatient router. Open sessions now keep a notification while they run — that is what stops Android freezing them; it names the current one and can end them all.
Fixed: video left a black strip beside the camera cutout; a setting turns it off if it clips the picture.

Twig 1.11.0
The terminal can now show a session's directory in the file pane — local, over SSH, or a path outside the tree, which mounts on top of it and comes down with back. The session list gains a second line with each session's directory or running program, and marks the one on screen.
The player remembers the audio track, subtitle and picture scaling you pick by hand and reuses them on the next episode.
Grid cell size is now a three-step setting.
Fixed: a root terminal that exited as it opened.

Twig 1.10.0
The video player's bottom bar is rebuilt as three rows — times, a full-width seek bar, then the buttons — so the track gets a line of its own. The scale icon cycles the modes instead of a dialog, video turns with the phone even while the rotation lock is on, and anything past an hour reads h:mm:ss.
A security round: WiFi sharing answers LAN clients only and never through root, archive entries cannot write outside the folder you extract into, and a cut-off copy leaves the original alone.

Twig 1.9.4
Adds a 32-bit ARM build. Until now the app shipped for 64-bit ARM and x86_64 only, so older 32-bit devices could not install it. It is published on GitHub as a separate download and is untested on real hardware — the native code it carries (SMB, zstd, the FFmpeg decoder, the terminal's PTY) has only run on 64-bit here.
Per-architecture downloads exist for the other two as well, each about 2.5 MB smaller than the combined APK, which is unchanged and remains the one to take if unsure.

On the 32-bit build. Twig has only ever shipped 64-bit, so this is the first APK that installs on a 32-bit ARM device at all — and the native code it carries (libsmb2, zstd, the FFmpeg decoder, the terminal's PTY helper) has never run on one here. It is offered because being unable to install is worse than being able to try; treat it as experimental and report what breaks.
All five are signed with the same key, so any of them installs over any other without uninstalling.

Twig 1.9.3
Fixes a crash on Android 9 and 10: opening track info in the music page, or anything reading a file through a content:// URI, killed the app. The provider used a method that only exists from Android 11.
Servers keep their place in the sidebar. Saving a connection moved it to the bottom of its group, and the host key and Jellyfin token are written on first connect, so expanding a server reordered the list.
A fresh install starts at normal row height and text size, not the smallest.

Twig 1.9.0
A PDF stored inside an archive now opens, instead of asking which app to use and then failing in every one of them, Twig included.
Expanding a tar inside a gz/xz/bz2/zst layer has to unpack it locally first. It now says so beforehand when the archive is large or its size cannot be read, rather than starting silently; abandoning the row stops the work instead of letting it run on unseen.
Video opens with best fit every time — the aspect mode picked for one file no longer carries to the next.

Twig 1.8.6
Internal only: the build now uses a newer R8 than the one bundled with the Android Gradle Plugin. F-Droid rebuilds each release from source and checks the result byte for byte against the published APK; the previous release matched in everything except one string R8 writes into the compiled code, which turned out to vary between machines. Pinning a newer R8 picks up the determinism fixes made upstream. No user-visible change.

The build no longer embeds Android Gradle Plugin's dependency metadata in the APK. That block is an inventory of the libraries used, encrypted so that only Google can read it, and it exists for Play Console's vulnerability scanning; in a build distributed anywhere else it is 5.8 KB of content nobody can review. Removing it is also what lets F-Droid accept the APK, since their scanner rejects opaque extra blocks in the signing area.

Twig 1.8.4
Native libraries are now laid out for 16 KB memory pages, which Android 15 and later require: on such a device the loader refuses a 4 KB library outright rather than running it slower, so the terminal would have crashed. Termux's terminal JNI is compiled from source for the same reason, since every published build of it is still 4 KB. The libraries also no longer carry a build id that depends on where they were compiled, so a build of a given release is reproducible from its source.

Fixed: checked files under a directory stayed checked after collapsing it and showing back up checked again when re-expanded.
Which build is this. The full flavor, which includes read-only RAR support via junrar. That library is under the UnRAR license and is not free software — see LICENSE-EXCEPTIONS.md. The libre flavor, built from the same tree with :app:assembleLibreRelease, drops it and is 100% FLOSS; that is the variant intended for F-Droid.
ABIs: arm64-v8a + x86_64. Installing the APK gives you both; a per-device download is roughly 2 MB smaller.
