@github-actions github-actions released this 16 Sep 18:39

Native Linux x86-64 packages. Installation and removal are handled by your distro package manager; setup.sh and uninstall.sh are no longer required.

Install

Debian / Ubuntu / Linux Mint

sudo apt install ./flstudiorpc_1.3.0_amd64.deb

Fedora / RHEL-family

sudo dnf install ./flstudiorpc-1.3.0-1.x86_64.rpm

Arch Linux / CachyOS / EndeavourOS

sudo pacman -U ./flstudiorpc-1.3.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

Building From Source

The native packages above are the recommended installation method.

If none of the provided package formats fit your distribution, you need a custom build, or you want to compile the current source yourself, the repository now includes a Makefile and BUILDING.md.

git clone https://github.com/devrainz/FLStudio-Linux-RPC.git
cd FLStudio-Linux-RPC
make publish

The default self-contained Linux x86-64 build is written to:

build/publish/linux-x64/FLStudioRPC

Official pre-built releases currently target Linux x86-64. Other .NET runtime identifiers can be selected manually, but are not officially tested unless stated otherwise.

Uninstall

# Debian / Ubuntu / Mint
sudo apt remove flstudiorpc

# Fedora / RHEL-family
sudo dnf remove flstudiorpc

# Arch Linux / CachyOS / EndeavourOS
sudo pacman -Rns flstudiorpc

The package manager owns and removes the executable, application-menu entry, installed icons, and license file. Per-user preferences under ~/.config are intentionally preserved.

What's Changed

  • Install path changed from /opt/flstudio-rpc/FLStudioRPC to /usr/bin/flstudiorpc (78abcbe)
  • Fixed RPC bug (again) in which FL Studio's version didn't show up (c495356)
  • Changed from tar.gz + setup.sh release creation to native DEB/RPM/Arch package releases (09da357)
  • Replaced setup/uninstaller instructions with apt, dnf, and pacman (1f1ac5f)
  • Deleted the now-unused installer directory (9a089a5)
  • Fixed FL Studio version not being detected (8284087)
  • Added a simple source-build workflow with Makefile and BUILDING.md for unsupported distributions, custom builds, and contributors (eba04fb)
  • Reimplemented xwininfo for FL detection + dependency (e84f9b1)

Files

  • .deb for Debian, Ubuntu, Linux Mint and derivatives
  • .rpm for Fedora/RHEL-family distributions
  • .pkg.tar.zst for Arch Linux and derivatives
  • SHA256SUMS for artifact verification

If the provided packages do not meet your needs, you can compile the project manually from source using the repository Makefile.
