A standalone RPCS3 title compiled from the abandoned PS5_RPCS3
Uses PS5_RetroArch with a single PlayStation 3 core
Put your own PS3 system software and your own game into the RPCS3 title folder (PPSA42674). The full-core RetroArch title stays untouched. The firmware file has to be named PS3UPDAT.PUP, and it has to come from Sony's official PS3 system software update page.
- Copy the firmware into the RPCS3 system folder on the console:
"/data/homebrew/PPSA42674/system/RPCS3/PS3UPDAT.PUP"
The core looks only for that filename. On the first game load it installs the firmware into system/RPCS3/ and the screen says Installing firmware. Leave the title running until that finishes. A later load sees the installed firmware and skips this step.
- Create a game directory outside
system/. One place that works is:
"/data/homebrew/PPSA42674/games/"
What you copy depends on the copy you own:
- A disc you dumped yourself is a folder that contains
PS3_GAME/USRDIR/EBOOT.BIN. Copy that whole folder. - A PSN purchase is a
.pkgfile. Put its.raplicence file in the same folder as the.pkg. The core copies every.rapbeside the package into its licence directory when the package installs.
- On the console, open RPCS3, Choose Load Core, Choose PlayStation 3, Choose Load Content, open
games/, and select the game.
- For a disc folder, select
PS3_GAME/USRDIR/EBOOT.BIN, or select the game folder itself. A folder with noEBOOT.BINin either of those two places is rejected. - For a PSN package, select the
.pkg. The first load installs it, then starts it. The screen shows the install before the game.
- Start the game only after the firmware install has finished. The first launch of a game also builds its cache, so that start is slow. Later starts use the cache already stored under
system/RPCS3/.
Do not copy these files into the RetroArch title /data/homebrew/PPSA99169/
