Release list
v0.7.0
Driver fork dropped
nonraid-webui no longer needs a personal fork of the NonRAID driver - it now builds and tracks the driver directly from upstream qvr/nonraid's main branch. Three real protections the fork provided were reimplemented here instead:
- Array members provisioned as whole, unpartitioned disks now correctly re-import on every restart/reboot.
- Stale driver-side disk counters are automatically detected and refreshed after a rebuild or a write-error disk failure.
- A transient "device busy" failure when stopping the array (e.g. right after a LUKS disk closes) is now retried automatically.
Fixes
- Fixed a bug that could prevent a genuinely fresh install (no existing array) from ever completing setup through the onboarding wizard.
- Fixed an existing install's driver update silently continuing to build from the old fork instead of switching to upstream.
UI
- Renamed Settings > "Internet Access" to "Public Links" for clarity - it's specifically about the Share Links Cloudflare Tunnel feature, not general internet access.
v0.6.7
Fixes
- A network hiccup fetching the Community Apps catalog at boot (e.g. DNS not ready yet) could crash the entire backend and leave it stuck in a permanent restart loop - taking down the whole dashboard, not just the Apps tab. Fixed.
v0.6.6
Fixes
- The installer no longer automatically bridges the primary network interface (br0) on every install/update. That's a real, if brief, network interruption that only makes sense on a fresh appliance image - it now only runs when explicitly requested (
--step ensure_lxc_bridge), which nonraid-os's own first-boot flow will do.
v0.6.5
Fixes
- Every install or update on a UEFI-booted host (the default boot mode for nonraid-os) crashed instantly with no error output at all. Fixed.
v0.6.4
Features
- New SHARE-SERVER-SAFETY.md documenting the safety measures behind Share Links.
- The CLI is now called
nwctl(previouslynonraid-tool) - avoids being confused withnmdctl, the separate NonRAID array driver's own CLI. An existing saved login migrates over automatically; the oldnonraid-toolsymlink is removed on upgrade.
Docs
- README and REQUIREMENTS.md catch-up: Share Links' Development workflow (
packages/shared,share-server,public-share),cloudflared/share-serverinstall-time requirements, and Project layout updates.
v0.6.3
Fixes
- Removed the redundant Share Links list from Settings, now that the Links page manages every share link across the array in one place.
v0.6.2
Features
- Internet Access settings now state exactly where to point a Cloudflare Tunnel (Service =
http://127.0.0.1:8877), instead of leaving that undocumented. - The Links page can now permanently delete a revoked share link, not just reactivate it.
v0.6.1
Fixes
- Updating to v0.6.0 could crash the backend on every boot (
Cannot find package '@nonraid/shared'), because the installer copied a broken symlink into place instead of the package it points to. Fixed.
v0.6.0
Features
- Share files and folders over the internet with a Share Link, through a Cloudflare Tunnel. No VPN or port forward is needed. Set access to read-only, upload-only, or fully editable. Add a password, an expiry date, and upload limits.
- New Links page lists every Share Link in one place, so you can find, edit, or revoke one without hunting through folders.
- Browse marks any file or folder reachable through a Share Link, including files inside a shared folder.
- Browse and Share Links can now open images, video, audio, and PDF files inline, instead of only offering a download.
- Creating a Share Link no longer needs a second sign-in step. Its link can be viewed and copied again later, not just once at creation.
Fixes
- A Share Link could crash the public share page on first load.
- Read-only Share Links could not view text file contents, only download them.
- Saving changes to a Share Link's settings gave no confirmation that it worked.
- The per-row "Share Link" button in Browse did not switch to "Edit Link" once a share already existed for that row.
- Small file uploads to a Share Link could be wrongly rejected as too large.
- A Share Link's RPC socket could fail to start due to a permissions problem.
v0.5.10
Fixes
- Dashboard's pools card could show a share nobody could actually connect to - it only checked that SMB/NFS was enabled, not that anyone had real access (a share with no
publicflag and no user/group grant has zero valid Samba credentials). Fixed.
