What's new in 1.2.0

• Hide your call sign — Danger Zone → Password → "Hide my call sign in encrypted messages". Encrypted messages, locations, pictures and acknowledgments go out as ANONYMOUS; your call sign travels inside the encryption, so only stations with the password (and 1.2 or newer) see who sent them. Off by default. Amateur bands require station identification, so use it only where that is legal.
• App lock — Danger Zone → Lock App on Open. When the app is opened fresh it stays covered until you confirm with the phone's fingerprint, face or screen PIN; screenshots and the Recent apps preview are blocked while it is on. Needs a screen lock on the phone; off by default.
• Wipe All Data — the red button in the top bar erases everything the app has stored (messages, pictures, locations, password, call sign, contacts, settings) after one confirmation, and closes the app.
• Unlock later — encrypted messages that arrived before you had the right password are decrypted as soon as you enter it.
• Safer resend — long-pressing a message now asks before sending it again, encrypted when a password is set.
• Fixed the missing space in "Auto-added at" contact notes.

Updates in place over 1.0 and 1.1; messages and settings are kept.

Rattlegram Plus Plus 1.1.0

• Pictures: Compose → Picture. Take a photo or pick one, choose Small/Medium/Large, optionally Robust (for weak signals) optionally Encrypt. Sent as ordinary Rattlegram messages with spare parts, so a few lost parts are rebuilt automatically. Photo metadata (location, time, camera) is removed. The receiver needs Rattlegram Plus Plus 1.1 or newer.
• ✅ Acknowledgments: Menu → Acknowledgments: Off (default), messages addressed to me, or all messages. Your message shows "✓ Acknowledged by …". The radio transmits the short ACK on its own.
• 🔐 Remember password (optional), stored encrypted on the phone and never backed up.
• 📍 Encrypted location sharing. The map pin is now labelled with just the call sign.

Upgrading

Installs over 1.0.0. Your messages and settings are kept.

Tested on Samsung Galaxy A15 phones, through digirg lite and over a BTech UV-Pro via Bluetooth. Transmit only where you're licensed to; amateur radio does not allow encrypted messages in the USA.

Rattlegram Plus Plus 1.0.0

First release of Rattlegram Plus Plus, an independent fork of Rattlegram Plus by BI3BJU, based on Rattlegram by aicodix.

It installs alongside Rattlegram Plus (its own app ID) and uses the same over-the-air format.

What's new

Install

Download RattlegramPlusPlus.apk below and open it. Android will ask you to allow installing apps from your browser or file manager. Requires Android 7.0+.

If you installed the earlier v0.1-test build, uninstall it first. It used Rattlegram Plus's app ID.

Tested on Samsung Galaxy A15 phones with a BTech UV-Pro (firmware 0.9.3). Transmit only where you're licensed to; many amateur radio rules don't allow encrypted messages.
