v6.1.1
v6.1.0
Add --include option (9ee9a1e)
You can now specify which kind of dependencies to include. This enables
also checking peer and optional dependencies, and you can omit
dependencies or devDependencies if you want.
The default is dependencies and devDependencies to avoid breaking
changes from existing behavior.
v6.0.0
Use streaming pipeline, support stdin (3c9fe2a)
This makes ditched more useful as a Unix tool, as it can start outputting results as it processes its input.
This is much more memory efficient and we can easily throttle the number of concurrent requests toward the npm registry.
Sadly, loses some things:
- --levels option. Use output from 'npm list --depth' instead
- default sorting. Pipe to
sortinstead.
The output is also swapped to have the number of days as the first column. This is more practical when piping to sort.
New config options:
- concurrency: the max number of parallel requests to the registry
- registry: the base URL to the npm registry
v5.1.0
Allow specifying package.json file(s) (2bc3b6f)
Instead of always checking the working directory's package.json file, now you can pass multiple json files to check.
The default behavior stays the same: if no files are given, the working dir's package.json is checked.
Support for stdin is not implemented, but might come later.
v5.0.1
Use fetch instead of buggy https.get call (08e3419)
ditched required Node >= 20, so fetch should be available for everyone without changes needed.
The previous getter was buggy and could hang on errors.
v5.0.0
Use simpler, more UNIX-like output, drop some dependencies
Now the output is a pure text-based table with two tab-separated columns. This is still human-readable but also much more compatible with piping to other unix programs like grep, sort, etc.
With this change, the ditched (!) package cli-table has been entirely removed.
The column for ditched status (yes/no) is also removed, as it is redundant. Now, if a package is included in the output, it means it is ditched. Therefore, the --all option is also redundant. Simply use --days 0 for the same behavior.
Other behavioral changes:
- Sorting is by age, descending (opposite from before)
- A bug that failed to set exit code 1 is fixed
- The ditched age (--days) is now inclusive (>=), not exclusive (>) as before.
v4.0.0
yargs has been updated to v18 and this package now requires Node.js v20 or newer.
v3.0.0
The package now requires Node 18 and now exposes ESModules only.
v2.3.0
This package is now deployed with provenance.
Dependencies have been updated.

v2.2.0
New feature: Recursive scanning. Thanks, @sunshineo! (#3)
You can now use the --levels/-l option to specify the number of levels (depth) to go down the dependency tree.
