Troubleshooting
The binary is not on your PATH. A downloaded release goes wherever you put it; go install puts it in ~/go/bin. See Installation for the one-line PATH fix, or run it by its full path.
The release is not notarized and macOS quarantines downloads. Run xattr -d com.apple.quarantine tayda-uv on the binary, or allow it under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. Building from source avoids this entirely.
On macOS with Homebrew, Go lives at /opt/homebrew/bin/go and that directory is missing from the PATH of some non-login shells. Use the full path or PATH=/opt/homebrew/bin:$PATH go install ./cmd/tayda-uv.
The image has too few pixels for the physical size of the side. Re-export from your editor at a higher resolution; the message tells you the minimum. Upscaling an existing small image in an editor adds pixels but not detail, and the print will show it.
The image is the wrong shape for the side. Usually the canvas was set up from a rounded size (56 × 112 mm, or 1000 × 2000 px) rather than the guide's 56 × 108.5. Fix the canvas in your editor to the size on Enclosure sizes, or crop to that ratio. Drift up to 0.5% is tolerated; this one is 3.1%.
The artwork's proportions are turned relative to the artboard. Rotate it in your editor. The tool will not rotate it for you, because it cannot know which way is up.
The SVG contains text, an embedded image, a clip path, mask, filter or pattern, and the message says which. Convert text to paths and flatten the rest — Preparing artwork has the menu items for each editor — or export a PNG at the size tayda-uv sides lists. -force does not help here: it overrides validation, and this is a refusal to render, not a validation result.
Flags were placed after the file name. Put every option before the image:
tayda-uv convert -e 1590B -s A -o face.pdf face.png # right
tayda-uv convert face.png -e 1590B -s A -o face.pdf # wrongtayda-uv enclosures lists the ones the guide covers. If yours is not there, Tayda's guide has no artboard for it and neither does the tool; check the live guide and open an issue if it has been added.
Not an error. The guide warns that large areas of gloss varnish attract fingerprints and slow production, and that gloss matte handles large areas better. Which finish you get is chosen in the Tayda Box Tool at upload, so the file is fine; just pick matte there, or use a mask to coat less of the side. White and gloss explains.
c refuses when any attached side has a problem and tells you which. Fix that side or clear it with x. There is no override in the interface; -force on the command line is a deliberate act.
Only .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif and .svg are selectable. Export in one of those.
You converted with gloss on. The RDG_GLOSS layer's preview colour is a stand-in and covers everything beneath it on screen. The file is correct; convert once with -gloss none to check the colours, then again with gloss for upload. See Checking the output.
That is normal without -e/-s: A and the Lid are the same size on every enclosure, as are B and D, and C and E. Pass -e and -s to assert the one you meant.
It could not fully read the PDF and says so rather than passing it. This happens with files from other tools, not with this tool's own output. Re-export without encryption, or rely on Tayda's Analyzer for that file.
The guide is versioned and Tayda revises it. The tool's table was transcribed from V2 (22 April 2026). Check the live page in a browser and open an issue with what changed. Never alter artwork to fit a number you think is stale.
It queries the terminal for its background colour and needs an answer. Run it in a real terminal; for anything automated, use the command line.
The Analyzer is the authority and inspect is not. Please open an issue with the Analyzer's message and, if you can share it, the PDF, so the check can be taught to catch it.
