Problems with usersettings.php

I have a problem with usersettings.php in my theme. If I try and load usersettings.php in my theme it returns a blank page whereas if I switch to Bootstrap 3 for example it works fine. Any ideas how I fix this?

Today, I released e107 v2.3.12 to fix the original problem that you reported without special handling from the theme.

I tried adding:
define("BOOTSTRAP", 3);
to my theme.php. This did cause the usersetting form to display but breaks the theme by causing a calendar menu to display (for some reason) loading close to be displayed, top left hand corner also.

I have one observation, while this works, admin users still see a calendar in the top right hand side of the page when usersettings.php is loaded. Other users do not so not a big issue for now.

Glad the form is back. The calendar is the pop-up for a date field on that form, the birthday field on most sites. Adding the theme.xml is what turned that field from a plain text box into the pop-up, and e107 leaves it to Bootstrap's stylesheet to keep the pop-up folded until someone clicks into the field. Your theme does not load Bootstrap, so nothing folds it. Admins see it and members do not because that date field, or the category it sits in, is set so that only Admin can fill it in, so members are not given the field at all and get no calendar with it. Admin Area, Users, Extended User Fields lists the field with its Write access column beside it.

To put the calendar back in its box, add this one line to the stylesheet your theme already loads (style.css in the theme folder, for most themes):

.datetimepicker.dropdown-menu { display: none; position: absolute; z-index: 1000; background: #fff; border: 1px solid #ccc; }

Those are the rules Bootstrap would have supplied. I tried the line on a fresh v2.3.11 install with a theme shaped like yours: without it the calendar sits open on the page, with it the calendar stays hidden until someone clicks into the date field, then opens underneath it. The line lives in your theme folder, so e107 updates leave it alone, and the fix being prepared on #6017 for the blank pages does not touch this part, so the line is the lasting answer for your theme. If nobody on the site uses that date field, switching it off on the Extended User Fields screen is the other way to lose the calendar.

adding .datetimepicker.dropdown-menu { display: none; position: absolute; z-index: 1000; background: #fff; border: 1px solid #ccc; } to my style sheet didnt work. I can't delete a date extended user field as i;m using it for a specific user purpose. As this calendar box is only visible to admins on my site right now (my extended user date field is only updatable by admins) then this isnt a problem for me and can wait for the proper fix.

@Taffman, the quickest check: in the Admin Area open e107_admin/cache.php, pick "Empty All Cache" from the dropdown, press Delete, then reload usersettings.php. e107 gives a stylesheet a new address when that cache is emptied, and until then your browser can keep showing the file as it was before your edit. If the calendar is still there after that, move the line to the top of the stylesheet, below any line that starts with @import, and empty the cache once more. Or leave it as it is; the fix below makes the edit unnecessary.

The calendar sits top right because the calendar box is added at the very end of the page, and with nothing telling it to hide, it slides up beside whatever in your layout floats. I reproduced that today on a fresh v2.3.11 install with a theme in your state, and the same line hid it there. So if it did nothing on your site, the file you edited most likely never reached the browser, or is not the one the page loads.

Keep the date field. The lasting fix is one rule in a stylesheet that e107 itself loads on every theme without Bootstrap, so the calendar folds with no theme edit at all. Deltik has agreed to that change and it is up as #6277 for the development branch and #6278 for the 2.3 releases; I will not guess when it reaches a release. Once it does, the line in your stylesheet is redundant and can stay or go.
