AniView is now on desktop. There are new apps for Windows, macOS and Linux, each with its own interface built for a mouse and keyboard. They include a sidebar, a show page where you can jump to any episode, a full player with keyboard shortcuts, downloads, and a window that remembers its size.
- MyAnimeList: you can sign in with MyAnimeList as well as AniList and track your shows with either one. A paired TV uses the same account.
- A fuller Home: new Top rated, All-time popular, Coming soon and genre rows. Continue watching is on by default, and the app opens with the AniView wordmark and greets you by name.
- Titles your way: choose whether shows are named in Romaji or English.
- Better downloads: each episode is saved as one MP4 with its subtitles inside, and you can seek within it. "Save to gallery" works, and deleting a download also removes its gallery copy. A failed download can be retried with the source you have open now.
- More sources: ani.pm and AnimeStream are added and Re:Anime is removed. Extension videos, separate audio tracks and extension subtitles play like they do in Aniyomi. The source you pick for a show is remembered for next time.
- TV: Search is now a place to browse, the show actions stay on one line, and TVs can pick from qualities they used to hide.
- Fixes: seasons that keep counting from the last one now start at episode 1, switching themes no longer crashes, and featured art is no longer cut off under the header.
