Oh no! My DHCP Server has been stolen! How do I set up DHCP Services on FS01??
Start by using Server Manager on AD02 to install the DHCP Server Role to FS01. Also make sure to install the DHCP Remote Management feature on AD02 so you are able to use the DHCP tool.
To authorize the DHCP server for the domain I used the following command:
Add-DhcpServerInDC -DnsName fs01-elizabeth -IPAddress 10.0.5.8
And checked its status with: Get-DhcpServerInDC
(You can also do this through the DHCP tool in Server Manager by right-clicking the server name and clicking "Authorize")
To add a new IPv4 Scope I used the following command:
Add-DhcpServerv4Scope -Name "elizabeth.local" -StartRange 10.0.5.150 -EndRange 10.0.5.175 -SubnetMast 255.255.255.0
(You can also do this in the DHCP tool)
To add the Default Gateway and Domain Name I configured the options for the server and added in:
- "Router" - 10.0.5.2
- "Domain Name" - elizabeth.local
