Battery Pass and Semantic Models with SAMM

Nikolai D'Agostino edited this page Jul 1, 2026 · 7 revisions

Why should you join?

Get a hands-on kickstart on the Joint Activity on Battery Pass (BPP) and explore the collaborative data standards established by Catena-X and IDTA.

Are you managing circular economy data, or do you need to implement the regulatory requirements of the EU Battery Regulation? This session is fully dedicated to the Digital Battery Passport (BPP) and showcases how Catena-X and the Industrial Digital Twin Association (IDTA) have joined forces to create a standardized, ready-to-use blueprint for battery data exchange.

The primary focus of this workshop is the semantic model of the Battery Pass. To understand how the BPP requirements are anchored technically, we will take a brief introductory look at the underlying models. You will get a first impression of semantic modeling with SAMM and how these specifications are contributed to Tractus-X.

We are offering business experts, sustainability managers, and interested newcomers a deep dive into the Joint Battery Pass standards, complemented by a short introduction to the Semantic Aspect Modeler—an open-source tool within the Eclipse Foundation Top Level Project „Digital Twin“ driven by the IDTA.
