Diskoryx v1.0.2 — Faster NTFS Scanning
Faster NTFS scanning
Diskoryx now uses compact binary scan data and more efficient folder-tree construction to reduce scanning overhead.
On the development machine, three validation scans of approximately 763,000 files completed in 3.74–4.38 seconds. Results vary depending on hardware, system activity, and scan contents.
Correctness and reliability
- Improved hard-link size accounting when a file alias is unreachable.
- Preserved full NTFS parent identities to prevent incorrect folder associations when records are reused.
- Preserved paths under the NTFS $Extend metadata directory.
- Added stricter validation of scanner output and broker transport.
- Expanded regression coverage: 278 Node tests and 6 Rust tests pass.
Other updates
- Updated UI styling, screenshots, benchmarks, and documentation.
- Disk analysis remains fully offline.
- The application runs as a normal user; only the separate NTFS scanner requests administrator approval.

The installer is unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen may show a warning.
Testing status and known limitations
This remains an early testing release. Keep backups and try file actions on disposable files first.
- File sizes are logical sizes, not allocated “Size on disk.”
