Anomaly Setup Tool 0.96

Anomaly Setup Tool creates a Wine wrapper for an existing Anomaly installation, with a native setup wizard and launcher.

Requirements

• Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 26 or newer.
• An existing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly installation.
• An anomaly-wine-engine archive in .tar.xz format, downloaded automatically or selected locally.

Main changes since 0.86

• Renamed GAMMA Setup Tool to Anomaly Setup Tool as it is no more stalker-gamma cli - dependent.
• Any Modorganizer-managed installation can now be used for wrapper creation.
• Replaced the previous wrapper pipeline with anomaly-wine-engine and DXMT. Engine downloads are checksum-verified and cached; Visual C++ and DirectX dependencies come from Microsoft installers.
• Added a native launcher with ModOrganizer, Anomaly DX11 and DX11 (AVX) shortcuts, and configurable custom executable tiles. The launcher stays open and locks while the launched program runs.
• Reorganized wrapper settings into sidebar categories, with frame pacing, upscaling, rendering, compatibility, Wine, and Metal debugging controls, plus an About page.
• Refined the setup wizard, executable selection, wrapper naming, dependency options, progress reporting, and user guide.
• Hardened failed-setup cleanup and ModOrganizer USVFS updates, preserving existing prefixes and backing up replaced USVFS files.

Upgrade notes

Existing wrappers retain their own launcher and engine. Create a new wrapper to use this version.
Engine releases and archives using the old GAMMA name or .tar.zst format are no longer selected automatically.

Main features

• No stalker-gamma-cli requirement, full support of any installation as long as it has ModOrganizer.exe;
• Simpler setup flow with a clearer review, progress, and completion screen.
• Sikarugir Wine 10 is now recommended Wine engine; ModOrganizer usvfs
  is updated by default; GPTK updated to GPTK4 beta 1.
• Advanced options for Wine engine, renderer, display resolution, and drive
  mapping.
• Winetricks downloads are cached and reused, so making another wrapper is
  faster.

Other changes

• Setup only creates new wrappers. It will not modify or overwrite an existing
  app.
• Setup uses Wine's normal Z: drive mapping; the G: mapping is now optional.
• D3DMetal shader fixes are no longer bundled with the tool. Latest versions:

• Removed the DXMT/DXVK tuning options, HUD toggles, MoltenVK fast math, and the
  mouse input compatibility toggle; instead a Configure shortcut is created
  beside the main .app.

Apple Silicon Mac, Homebrew, and an existing G.A.M.M.A. installation. The build
is not notarized, so macOS may ask you to approve it in System Settings.

GAMMA Setup Tool 0.69

Highlights

• Removed the developer-local hardcoded USVFS path and bundled the updated USVFS binaries with the app.
• Added Wine display resolution controls for BetterDisplay/HiDPI setups.
• Improved existing-wrapper setting detection so rerunning setup preserves more current options.

Notes

• The display controls are intended for cases where macOS scaling or HiDPI modes expose confusing monitor geometry to Wine.
• Mouse input compatibility changes Wine winebus HID/raw-input registry values. Use it when mouse capture, aiming, or extra mouse buttons behave incorrectly.
