Anomaly Setup Tool creates a Wine wrapper for an existing Anomaly installation, with a native setup wizard and launcher.
Requirements
- Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 26 or newer.
- An existing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly installation.
- An anomaly-wine-engine archive in .tar.xz format, downloaded automatically or selected locally.
Main changes since 0.86
- Renamed GAMMA Setup Tool to Anomaly Setup Tool as it is no more stalker-gamma cli - dependent.
- Any Modorganizer-managed installation can now be used for wrapper creation.
- Replaced the previous wrapper pipeline with anomaly-wine-engine and DXMT. Engine downloads are checksum-verified and cached; Visual C++ and DirectX dependencies come from Microsoft installers.
- Added a native launcher with ModOrganizer, Anomaly DX11 and DX11 (AVX) shortcuts, and configurable custom executable tiles. The launcher stays open and locks while the launched program runs.
- Reorganized wrapper settings into sidebar categories, with frame pacing, upscaling, rendering, compatibility, Wine, and Metal debugging controls, plus an About page.
- Refined the setup wizard, executable selection, wrapper naming, dependency options, progress reporting, and user guide.
- Hardened failed-setup cleanup and ModOrganizer USVFS updates, preserving existing prefixes and backing up replaced USVFS files.
Upgrade notes
Existing wrappers retain their own launcher and engine. Create a new wrapper to use this version.
Engine releases and archives using the old GAMMA name or .tar.zst format are no longer selected automatically.
