The Elders

The Elders are the last keepers of story in Threadbare, ancient and quiet figures bound to the Eternal Loom at the heart of Fray's End. Each carries a book — worn, irreplaceable — that holds the final surviving fragments of a strand of the world's memory. They do not leave the Loom; some say they cannot. They speak slowly, listen carefully, and forget nothing they have promised to remember. As their numbers dwindle, the Elders look ever more often to the StoryWeaver: the hands that still wander, the heart that still hears.
