Gameplay and Worlds

Blockiverse VR is a ruleset-defined voxel survival and creative game. Existing temporary validation worlds, reduced starter registries, and old temporary block/item names are migration inputs only.

Unsupported initially: hand-tracking-only mode, non-VR desktop mode, mobile, and PC VR.

Game Modes

  • Survival - mining, tools, inventory, crafting, stations, farming, containers, survival stats, environment effects, structures, vegetation, and save/load.
  • Creative - ruleset-defined creative catalog, placement/removal, world tools, safe world editing, menu flows, and save support.

World Presets

Preset Purpose
survival_terrain Primary survival world with terrain, caves, resources, vegetation, structures, day/night, weather, and persistence.
flat_builder Creative-friendly flat world with canonical block/item catalog.
void_builder Empty construction space with safety bounds and explicit spawn platform.

Canonical Systems

The canonical rulesets define:

  • Survival resources, tools, inventory, crafting, stations, containers, farming, and progression.
  • Creative placement/removal, inventory, editing, world tools, and multiplayer permissions.
  • Quest-readable survival/crafting menus.
  • Save/load schema, migrations, compatibility, integrity, and repair.
  • Day/night, lighting, temperature, clouds, weather, fog, snow, ice, and gameplay hooks.
  • Biome vegetation, trees, plants, regrowth, decay, harvest, and save hooks.
  • Structure generation, templates, placement, loot, roads, paths, degradation, and persistence.
  • LAN multiplayer networking, authority, commands, sync, reconnect, roles, and cloud-private-world upgrade path.
  • Audio, haptics, VFX, ambience, accessibility, performance budgets, and acceptance criteria.
