Adds the soccer-enemy animation timing correction for Astro Bot game version 1.04, retaining the existing correction for 1.00 and all v0.8.5 features.

Fix

At high framerates, the soccer enemy converted its animation budget using the shorter current frame time instead of the console's fixed 1/60-second unit. This could trigger MupSoccerEnemy.cpp:1674 in game 1.04. The two budget conversions now use the fixed unit. Animation playback, elapsed-time integration and the assertion itself remain unchanged.

The patch checks the recognized game build and exact instruction bytes before applying. This addresses the failure reported by a PSVR2 user, but the correction is game-specific and applies to other headsets too. Both Windows and standalone Quest builds include it.

Windows PC VR

Download and extract AstroQuest-PC-VR-v0.8.6.zip. Place your own decrypted game dump at games/<game-folder>/eboot.bin, or select its eboot.bin when prompted. Start your VR runtime and run Play Astro Bot VR.bat. Preserve games and pc-vr/user when replacing an existing installation. Crash reports are created in pc-vr/reports; Collect Crash Report.bat also collects them manually.

Standalone Quest 3 preview

Download AstroQuest-Quest-0.8.6-preview.apk and sideload it with SideQuest or adb install -r. It uses the same enhanced-preview package and signing key as the previous Quest download. The support ZIP includes installation instructions and the Quest log collector.

Place your own extracted game at /data/local/tmp/astro/games/CUSA12392/eboot.bin, with the rest of the game's files beside it, or use the app's files/games/CUSA12392 folder as documented in the support ZIP. No game files or saves are included.

Validation and known limits

Patch checks pass against the actual 1.00 and 1.04 executables, including wrong-byte and truncated-code rejection and verification of the corrected instruction targets. Windows and ARM64 builds and APK signature checks pass. The fix still needs gameplay confirmation at the affected enemy.

No game data, saves or diagnostic captures are included. Download checksums are in AstroQuest-v0.8.6-SHA256SUMS.txt.

Standalone PICO and Galaxy XR experimental previews

Two additional APKs are available alongside the PC and Quest downloads:

  • AstroQuest-PICO-0.8.6-preview.apk - PICO OpenXR host with the latest Quest core/settings.
  • AstroQuest-GalaxyXR-0.8.6-preview.apk - Android XR manifest/runtime integration and a separate Galaxy XR app identity. Hand-only control is disabled.

Both include the Quest resolution/FOV controls and v0.8.6 core fixes. Hardware compatibility depends on the bundled emulator/graphics driver. Each has a matching Support.zip with installation instructions and a diagnostic ZIP collector.

Sideload the appropriate APK using adb install -r <filename.apk>. Copy your own complete extracted game folder to /data/local/tmp/astro/games/CUSA12392/, including eboot.bin. A separate update can be placed alongside it as CUSA12392-UPDATE. No game files or saves are included. The apps use separate package identities and do not replace the Quest app.
