TailWag Studio 1.2.1

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 20 Oct 20:20

TailWag Studio 1.2.1

Send exports straight to your slicer, plus an important fix: Bambu Studio and OrcaSlicer were resetting the layer height and print settings of exported projects. If you print from TailWag .3MF files, please update.

New release, bugs possible. If you find a bug, please open an issue.

What's New

  • Send to slicer (#50): A new Send to Bambu Studio / OrcaSlicer button in the Export dialog builds the verified .3MF and opens it in your slicer as a project in one click. Installed slicers are found automatically on Windows, or you can locate one by hand; TailWag remembers your choice. If no slicer is installed you get download links and a Save .3MF and show in folder option instead of an error.

Fixed

  • Slicer reset layer height and print settings (#52): Exported projects opened at 0.20 mm layers instead of 0.08 mm, and 100% infill and the other pinned settings went back to the slicer's preset, so prints came out in far fewer, thicker colour layers. All settings are now kept, and the export check blocks any file where they would not be. The TD calibration plate export is fixed too. Details: Discussion #53.
  • Safer slicer launch (#51): The slicer is started from its own folder with a clean environment, the same way Windows starts it.

Install

  • Windows: Run TailWag-Setup-1.2.1.exe (or portable TailWag-Portable-1.2.1.exe).
  • macOS: Drag TailWag Studio.app from TailWag-Setup-1.2.1-mac-arm64.dmg (Apple Silicon) or TailWag-Setup-1.2.1-mac-x64.dmg (Intel) to your /Applications folder.
    • Gatekeeper notice: Right-click TailWag Studio.app and choose Open, or run in Terminal: xattr -cr /Applications/TailWag\ Studio.app. Full help: Installing on macOS.

All binaries are verified in SHA256SUMS.txt. Full list of changes: see CHANGELOG.md.

TailWag Studio 1.2.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 18 Oct 22:01

TailWag Studio 1.2.0

Major feature release: Project Save and Open (.tailwag), full 100-step Undo and Redo, cross-platform macOS application packages (Apple Silicon & Intel DMGs + portable ZIPs), official Windows Package Manager (WinGet) manifest, and automated multi-platform release builds.

New release, bugs possible. If you find a bug, please open an issue.

What's New

  • Save and open projects (.tailwag) (#44): Save (Ctrl+S) and Open (Ctrl+O) your work in a single compressed .tailwag bundle. Stores your lossless photo, filament stack, swap layers, size/layer settings, pre-press adjustments, silhouette shape, and color/relief modes. Remembers your exact spools and calibrations even if your filament catalog changes. On startup, the desktop app offers to reopen your last session.
  • Full Undo and Redo system (#45): 100-step history with header buttons and keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+Z, and Ctrl+Y or Ctrl+Shift+Z). Covers filament swaps, slot reordering, adding/removing colors, layer slider drags (coalesced into single steps), relief modes, and shapes. Never alters or re-solves your manual boundaries.
  • macOS application packages now available (#48): Native Apple Silicon (arm64) and Intel (x64) DMG installers and portable ZIP bundles are attached below.
  • Windows Package Manager (WinGet) (#48): Added WinGet manifest for everyday3d.TailWagStudio. Once merged by Microsoft, install or update with winget install everyday3d.TailWagStudio.
  • Automated CI and release build pipeline (#47): Automated GitHub Actions runners on windows-latest and macos-latest compile production packages and compute SHA-256 checksums (SHA256SUMS.txt).

Install

  • Windows: Run TailWag-Setup-1.2.0.exe (or portable TailWag-Portable-1.2.0.exe).
  • macOS: Drag TailWag Studio.app from TailWag-Setup-1.2.0-mac-arm64.dmg (Apple Silicon) or TailWag-Setup-1.2.0-mac-x64.dmg (Intel) to your /Applications folder.

TailWag Studio 1.1.2

Choose a tag to compare

@everyday3d everyday3d released this 18 Oct 20:12

TailWag Studio 1.1.2

Manual mode fix + macOS release. Manual mode no longer re-solves behind your back. Now available for Windows and macOS.

New release, bugs possible. If you find a bug, please open an issue.

What changed

  • macOS builds now available: Apple Silicon (arm64) and Intel (x64) DMG installers and portable ZIP bundles are attached below.
  • Relief in Manual mode: you choose. A new switch under "Color Selection Mode" lets you pick Match photo (after you let go of a slider, every part of the picture re-picks the layer that best matches your photo for the stack you built) or Fixed relief (the relief keeps the shape from the photo's brightness, and sliders only move where colours change). Your choice is remembered.
  • No re-solve while you drag. The relief now holds still while you drag a layer slider and updates once when you let go. Before, every step rebuilt it.
  • Your swap layers stay where you put them. Changing a spool, reordering slots, adding or removing a slot, editing a spool in the stack and the Base Layer Thickness slider no longer move boundaries you set by hand.
  • The timeline badge says "Manual: your layers stay put" in Manual mode, and the Auto-Tune Swap Layers button follows the Faithful/Vivid setting.

Install

  • Windows: Run TailWag-Setup-1.1.2.exe (or portable TailWag-Portable-1.1.2.exe). If Windows shows SmartScreen: click More info, then Run anyway. Full help: Installing on Windows.
  • macOS: Drag TailWag Studio.app from TailWag-Setup-1.1.2-mac-arm64.dmg (Apple Silicon) or TailWag-Setup-1.1.2-mac-x64.dmg (Intel) to /Applications.
    • On first launch, right-click the app and choose Open, or run in Terminal: xattr -cr /Applications/TailWag\ Studio.app. Full help: Installing on macOS.

All packages are verified in SHA256SUMS.txt. Full list of changes: see CHANGELOG.md.

TailWag Studio 1.1.1

Choose a tag to compare

@everyday3d everyday3d released this 18 Oct 19:30

TailWag Studio 1.1.1

A small patch on 1.1.0. No change to colour prediction, solving or export. If you already run 1.1.0 you only need this for the cleaner wording and the updated installer.

New release, bugs possible. TailWag Studio 1.1 is new. If you find a bug, please open an issue (the bug form asks for your version and the steps to reproduce).

What changed

  • Notices: added NOTICE.md and README notices. TailWag Studio is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by HueForge, Bambu Lab, Prusa or any filament maker, and we do not own or claim to own those names.
  • Neutral wording: removed the HueForge name from two on-screen labels and the MCP tool description. Importing a HueForge filament library still works.
  • MIT License added.
  • Repository cleanup: removed the unused Python tool and personal build steps, and replaced a private network address in the Home Assistant field with a neutral default.
  • README spotlight: a screenshot tour of the studio.
  • Bug report form on the issue tracker.

Install

Run TailWag-Setup-1.1.1.exe. A portable build (TailWag-Portable-1.1.1.exe) needs no install.
Windows may show a SmartScreen warning because the app is not code-signed yet: choose More info, then Run anyway.

Full list of changes: see CHANGELOG.md.

TailWag Studio 1.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@everyday3d everyday3d released this 18 Oct 18:42

TailWag Studio 1.1.0

Turn a photo into a multi-filament relief print where what you export is what you print.

Highlights

  • Faithful colour matching (default): each column's depth is chosen by the closest colour match to your photo; Vivid mode keeps the bolder look.
  • Palette search: the auto-solver searches which spools to use, in what order and where they swap.
  • One print plan: the 3D preview, 3MF, STL and swap guides all come from the same plan. Every export is re-read and checked, and a mismatch blocks the export.
  • Fidelity report: predicted colour error, share of the photo out of reach, a heat map, swap count and purge estimate.
  • Calibration plate: print one small plate, photograph it, and each filament's real colour and transparency are measured and used everywhere.
  • Filament library: bundled manufacturer catalog, search, TD source badges (estimate to calibrated), AMS slot, stock and TD sorting.
  • Guided tour, loading screen and update check (click the version badge).
  • Bug fixes: washed-out 3D preview colours, and 3MF parts that lost about 3% of volume at filament boundaries.

Notes

  • Predicted colours are estimates until you calibrate your filaments.
  • Saved 3MF files are no longer rewritten by Bambu Studio after saving, so the file is exactly what was verified.
  • The MCP server is experimental.

Install

Run TailWag-Setup-1.1.0.exe. A portable build (TailWag-Portable-1.1.0.exe) needs no install.
Windows may show a SmartScreen warning because the app is not code-signed yet: choose More info, then Run anyway.

Full list of changes: see CHANGELOG.md.
