Release list
ScreenFix 1.0.4
ScreenFix 1.0.4
This release adds two self-contained Windows x64 downloads built from the same source and requiring no separate .NET installation.
Downloads
- ScreenFix-Windows-x64.exe — recommended compressed Windows build (51,969,319 bytes).
- ScreenFix-Windows-x64-uncompressed.exe — behavior-identical uncompressed fallback (116,470,117 bytes).
- ScreenFix-macos-arm64.zip — Apple Silicon build for macOS 13 and later.
- ScreenFix-v1.0.4-SHA256SUMS.txt — SHA-256 checksums for all three binaries.
The recommended Windows executable is 55.38% smaller. On the hosted Windows release runner, median startup was 227.852 ms for its first-launch measurement and 209.660 ms warm, compared with 110.177 ms and 100.631 ms for the uncompressed fallback.
Both Windows downloads include the same Screen Patch executable and tray icons, window-placement behavior, functionality, and version. The release pipeline launched both executables, validated their native and managed icon resources, verified deterministic rebuilds, and downloaded the staged artifact again for byte-for-byte validation.
The macOS archive passed 244 tests and package, architecture, and code-signature validation. All release assets were built from commit ed68d02d16014a6fae418bfb2f99fc649102cf4e.
ScreenFix 1.0.3
ScreenFix 1.0.3
ScreenFix masks damaged display regions and keeps ordinary windows in the usable area on either side.
Added
- The native macOS app now has the Screen Patch application icon in Finder, the Dock, and app metadata.
- The Windows notification-area icon and
ScreenFix.exenow use the same Screen Patch artwork. - Release download guidance is easier to find from the repository README.
Fixed
- Ordinary Windows maximization through Windows-key-Up or the maximize button can now settle into the selected safe area.
- The Windows
WINDOWPLACEMENTdefinition now matches the 44-byte Windows SDK layout instead of including the_MAC-only field that made it 60 bytes. - Windows-key-Left and Windows-key-Right behavior remains supported, while borderless and F11 full-screen windows remain excluded from correction.
Downloads
- macOS Apple Silicon:
ScreenFix-macos-arm64.zip— macOS 13 or later; no Hammerspoon required. - Windows x64:
ScreenFix.exe— self-contained Windows 10/11 Intel or AMD build; no separate .NET installation required.
Install notes
On macOS, extract the ZIP, move ScreenFix.app to Applications, then Control-click and choose Open once. The app is ad-hoc signed but not Apple-notarized. Allow Accessibility only if you want automatic window correction; masks and calibration work without it.
On Windows, run ScreenFix.exe and use its notification-area icon. The build is unsigned, so SmartScreen may appear. Only continue when the file came from this release and its SHA-256 matches ScreenFix-v1.0.3-SHA256SUMS.txt.
Windows x64 targets Intel/AMD Windows. Windows on ARM may run it through x64 emulation but is not the primary target. The macOS build targets Apple Silicon, not Intel Macs.
Verification
- macOS native tests: 244 passed
- Hammerspoon/Lua compatibility tests: 358 passed
- Windows portable tests: 320 passed
- Windows native placement, tray-icon, and layered-window tests passed on Windows
- The committed icons regenerate deterministically and pass package extraction checks
- The Windows package independently verifies the managed ICO bytes and native PE icon payloads

ScreenFix 1.0.2
ScreenFix 1.0.2
ScreenFix masks damaged display regions and keeps ordinary windows in the usable area on either side.
Fixed
- Native macOS mask bands now render above the system menu bar and other system chrome.
- The calibration editor renders above the persistent masks across the complete display frame.
- This replaces the incomplete menu-bar layering fix in 1.0.1.
During native macOS calibration, the full-display editor intentionally covers and intercepts the menu bar. Exit with the visible Save or Cancel control.
