ScreenFix 1.0.0

ScreenFix masks damaged display regions and keeps ordinary windows in the usable area on either side.

Downloads

  • macOS Apple Silicon: ScreenFix-macos-arm64.zip — macOS 13 or later; no Hammerspoon required.
  • Windows x64: ScreenFix.exe — self-contained Windows 10/11 Intel or AMD build; no separate .NET installation required.

Included

  • Three persistent, opaque, click-through mask bands.
  • Direct calibration with mouse hold-drag-release or trackpad tap-move-tap.
  • Resize from every white edge, 12-point screen and peer-band snapping, and Reset to Defaults.
  • Automatic window correction around the masks when Accessibility permission is available.
  • Monitor selection, disconnect/reconnect handling, sleep/wake recovery, and transactional Save/Cancel behavior.
  • Exact default damaged span of 1215–1920 on a 3440-wide display.

Install notes

On macOS, extract the ZIP, move ScreenFix.app to Applications, then Control-click and choose Open once. The app is ad-hoc signed but not Apple-notarized. Allow Accessibility only if you want automatic window correction; masks and calibration work without it.

On Windows, run ScreenFix.exe and use its tray icon. The build is unsigned, so SmartScreen may appear. Only continue when the file came from this release and its SHA-256 matches ScreenFix-v1.0.0-SHA256SUMS.txt.

Windows x64 targets Intel/AMD Windows. Windows on ARM may run it through x64 emulation but is not the primary target. The macOS build targets Apple Silicon, not Intel Macs.

  • Windows portable tests: 319 passed
  • Windows Win32 presentation and hit-testing tests passed in a Windows 11 VM
