@farmerarmor farmerarmor released this 03 Oct 11:56

0.2.0 — DirectX 12

This release brings the tested DX12 renderer to GitHub, with native same-frame stereo, DLSS support, the retained CPU performance improvements, and corrected headset colors.

  • Fixed, anchored panels across inventory, crafting, skills, map and the other shared player submenus.
  • Quest/POI markers respond to head turns.
  • Crosshair follows native weapon aim instead of the headset.
  • Automatic VR startup and recovery through loading/menu transitions.
  • Water/reflection history and flashlight-shadow corrections. Press F9 to enable the flashlight correction; it starts off in this tested build.

Download DyingLight2VR-0.2.0-DX12.zip, select DirectX 12 in the game, close it and run Install-VR.cmd. Activate your OpenXR headset and use Launch-VR.cmd. The installer preserves existing settings and only replaces a verified managed installation.

This contains the exact DLL confirmed in-headset with Quest Link/Oculus OpenXR. Source builds and crosshair, marker, menu, tracking, UI, temporal, water-dispatch, color and installer checks passed. The ZIP includes per-file checksums and licenses; the separate SHA-256 file verifies the download.

This is experimental: some lamp shadows, tooltip/progress indicators, ground detail and temporal effects remain imperfect. Motion controls are not implemented. DX11-specific input-lock/native-AA settings and shader-hunting controls are not active in this DX12 build. Leave OpenXR Toolkit disabled because it caused transition crashes during testing. See the README for the current controls and limitations.

The previous 0.1.0 DX11 release and its source remain available.

Experimental Dying Light 2 VR release for the exact DirectX 11 game binaries listed in baseline.json.

  • True same-frame stereo through OpenXR, headset tracking/FOV/resolution, automatic VR startup and loading/menu recovery.
  • Corrected stereo menus/HUD/video tooltips, culling and flashlight shadows. DLSS remains available.
  • Default-on [Controls] LockVerticalLook=1 blocks mouse/controller vertical look while preserving horizontal turning, headset pitch and menu input. Set to 0 and restart to disable.
  • Mouse/keyboard and ordinary gamepads; motion controls are not implemented.

Download DyingLight2VR-0.1.0.zip, extract it, close the game and run Install-VR.cmd. Activate your OpenXR headset, then run Launch-VR.cmd. Use DirectX 11. The source ZIP is not the compiled release.

This DLL was tested in-headset with Quest Link/Oculus OpenXR, including the vertical-look setting and flashlight fixes. Build/input checks and installer preservation/refusal checks passed. Other runtimes are unvalidated; residual weapon-edge ghosting against water and some ground-detail artifacts may remain.

The ZIP includes per-file SHA-256 checksums and third-party licenses. The separate .sha256 file verifies the ZIP itself. See the repository README for controls, settings, supported binary hashes and uninstall instructions.
