Spotiamp+ 0.7.8
Spotiamp+ 0.7.8: your own music, internet radio and Last.fm
Your own music
- Local Media in the Library: add your music folders once (right-click Local Media → Add a folder…) and every song in them is there, with its artist, album and length, to sort, filter as you type, play or drag into the playlist. New files show up by themselves. In Free Mode too.
- Drag music from Windows Explorer onto the playlist (it's added) or the main window (it plays), whole folders too.
- A file without tags shows its name without the .mp3 at the end.
Internet radio
- Radio in the Library: search thousands of stations by name or genre, see the most listened ones (everywhere, or in your country) and find the ones you've played under Your stations. Only stations Spotiamp+ can really play are listed.
- Ctrl+L opens a link, like Winamp's Open location: a Spotify song, album or playlist, or any internet radio station (SHOUTcast, Icecast, HLS,
.pls,.m3u). Stations play through the EQ and the visualizers and show the song that's on. - Stations in full quality: AAC+ stations used to play muffled, at half their rate; now they play whole, in stereo. A station that drops is connected again (up to three tries).
- Discord shows a station as radio, with its name, and a playlist saved as
.m3ukeeps its stations and their names.
Last.fm
- What you play goes on your Last.fm profile: right-click → Last.fm → Connect your Last.fm… and allow Spotiamp+ on Last.fm's page. A song scrobbles once half of it (or 4 minutes) has played, a song on repeat counts every time like on Spotify, and without internet the scrobbles wait and go later.
Also new
- Long lists are quick: in a playlist of 1400 songs a click used to take a sixth of a second to show; now it's instant, and so are select all, delete and Q. The Library keeps up with tens of thousands of songs.
- Fixed: your settings could be lost if Spotiamp+ closed right while saving them; a jump in a song made while Spotify's connection was dropping was lost; switching radio stations quickly showed an error.
Install

Spotiamp+ 0.7.7
Spotiamp+ 0.7.7 — Lala's wardrobe, and skins the full Winamp way
Lala
- Her wardrobe: 20 outfits, from sneakers and caps to a hoodie, a guitar and a crown, each opened by one of your listening badges. Put them on and take them off in Listening stats → WARDROBE (or right-click Lala → Wardrobe…); one per slot, and they stay on whatever she's up to.
- Costumes on special days: a witch hat and cape from October 24 to November 1, and a Santa hat from December 20 to January 2. Rather not? Right-click her → Dress up on special days.
Skins
- Skins now come the full Winamp way: their own mouse cursors, their window shapes (rounded or cut-out edges), and the Library, lyrics, album art and other windows wear the skin's titlebar, with the title in its own letters.
- The main window's visualizer works like Winamp's: in the skin's own colours over its dotted backdrop. Click it for the oscilloscope or to switch it off; right-click for the Fire and Line styles, thin bands, peaks and how fast they fall.
- Use the skin's font (Skins menu) puts the skin's font on the playlist and the Library (Arial, Winamp's own, when a skin names none).
MilkDrop
- 33 more presets by Incubo_ (Se7enSlasher), 534 in all. Presets made for his BeatDrop work too: Spotiamp+ now gives MilkDrop the spectrum frequency by frequency and the waveform (
get_fft,get_wave), scaled the way BeatDrop has it. Thank you, Incubo! (Ko-fi) - Minimizing Spotiamp+ now takes the MilkDrop picture with it, and it stops drawing (thanks, Incubo!).
Also new
- Sharper text: the pixel font sits on whole screen pixels, at 125% and 150% display scaling too. The lyrics come in three sizes (right-click them).
- Dragging is smooth: moving a window used to save its spot to disk dozens of times a second, which made it catch. Windows moved onto a screen with another scale keep their size.
- A song's full name shows when you hover over it, and the selected song's name scrolls through when it's cut off.
- Fixed: the update button slipping out of place on the playlist's titlebar; gaps beside the album art (it fills its window now, and stays square); hard-to-read badges in Listening stats; a jump in the song made just as it starts that sometimes didn't take.

Spotiamp+ 0.7.6
Spotiamp+ 0.7.6 — MilkDrop is here 🎆
MilkDrop was planned for 0.8.0, but it came together sooner than expected, so here it is.
MilkDrop
- Real MilkDrop presets in the visualizer, drawn by projectM and moving with the music. Press M in the visualizer (or its MILKDROP button).
- About 500 presets come with it, chosen to run smoothly: 150 of them by Incubo_ (Se7enSlasher), among them his MilkDrop takes on Spotiamp+'s own patterns. Thank you, Incubo! (BeatDrop · Ko-fi)
- MilkDrop's own textures come along, so presets that draw with pictures look as they should.
- L opens the preset list: search it, ♥ your favourites, and change only between them.
- A click is the next preset, PIN keeps one, double-click goes fullscreen with the song's title over it.
- Right-click: how often presets change (15 s to 2 min), cut on the beat, and the folder for your own
.milkfiles and textures.
Also new
- The Library opens on Recently played, has a Date column, puts Title before Album, and its columns size by dragging the lines between them.
- Spotiamp+, a skin of our own in the logo's orange and amber (Skins menu). Winamp Classic stays the default.
- A gentler volume slider: its lowest quarter was next to silent, with Normalize volume on above all. Your volume moves to where it sounds the same as before.
- The kbps and kHz readouts and the playlist's times are in the skin's own letters, where Winamp has them; the playlist corner shows the selected and total time; a local file shows its own kbps and kHz.
- Local .wav files play (they couldn't be opened), and Apple Lossless .m4a too.

Spotiamp+ 0.7.5
🦙 Meet Lala
A little llama now lives on your player. She dances to the beat, naps when the music stops, wakes up when you pat her and has something to say now and then: a fact about the song, your listening streak, a tip. When she's bored she pops over to your other windows. Right-click her for her size, to quiet her or to hide her.
New
- The equalizer's AUTO works like Winamp's: save a curve for a song or an artist and it comes back whenever they play. The EQ is remembered between runs.
- Ctrl+J jumps to a time in the song.
- The playlist's List button opens the Library and the list commands.
- Local files play in Free Mode too.
- Listening stats gets a REWIND tab, opening December 1.
- Every window comes forward with the player and shares one taskbar button.
- Turkish and other accented letters in the scrolling title and in search.
Fixed
- A moment offline could sign you out and stop the music.
- The song now carries on after Spotify drops the connection.
- No sound after Bluetooth headphones dropped out and came back (#9).
- The app could open off screen after a resolution change (#5).
- Windows stuck above the screen after changing the UI scale.
- Docked windows came apart on screens with a different scale.
- Library buttons on skins without their own, and colours left over from the previous skin.
- A blue line next to the balance slider on many skins.
Thanks to kaool, Incubo and worstmood for the reports!
Spotiamp+ 0.7.4
What's new
- Listening stats: plays, time listened, top songs and artists, by day and by hour. Pick a period, play your top songs, or copy a stats card to share. Open it from the Library.
- 47 badges to unlock in the BADGES tab of the Stats window.
- Loved songs: press F to love the current song. Loved songs get a ♡ and have their own list in the Library.
- Stop after current (Ctrl+V)
- Song menus: right-click a song in the playlist or Library to play, add, love, add to a list or copy its link.
- .m3u playlists: open and save them.
- On-screen display (optional): shows the new song in the corner for a few seconds.
- Skin Museum favorites: star skins and find them in the ★ Favorites tab. Idea by kaool.
- F1 shows every keyboard shortcut.
Fixes
- Changing skins from the right-click menu could freeze every window.
- When Spotify refused a song, the player could show "playing" over silence. Now it moves to the next song, and stops with a message if Spotify keeps refusing.
- Skin Museum thumbnails were squashed (reported by kaool).
- Lower CPU use with the visualizer open.
- Closed windows (stats, album art, lyrics, visualizer) now free their memory.
Already on 0.7.x? The app updates itself, or click the ⬆ pill next to the library button.
Spotiamp+ 0.7.3
Spotiamp+ 0.7.3
A big one: lots of classic Winamp touches, and the stability fixes to go with them.
New
- J: jump to any track. Type part of its name, pick with the arrows, Enter plays it.
- Q: play next. Queues the selected track; the number on the row is its place in the queue.
- Picks up where you left off. Your last track is ready at the same spot when you open the app.
- Skin Museum inside the app. Browse thousands of classic Winamp skins and put one on with a click (right-click → Skins → Skin Museum).
- 100 visualizer patterns (50 new: synthwave, a moonlit sea, an ECG, a spinning record, the C64 maze and more), and fullscreen: double-click it, Esc to come back.
- Scale every window 1×, 1.5×, 2× or 3× (right-click → Windows → Scale), or Ctrl+D for 2×.
- Instant mix: 20 songs like the selected one, added to the list or queued to play next.
- Recently played and Most played in the Library, kept on your own computer.
- Pin playlists to the top of the Library, and drag songs or playlists from the Library onto the playlist.
- Now Playing card: an image of the player and the song, ready to paste into Discord.
- Normalize volume evens out loudness between songs (right-click → Audio).
- Taskbar extras (optional): song title, progress and ⏮ ⏯ ⏭ buttons on the taskbar (right-click → Windows).
- Winamp-style right-click menu with each key shown next to what it does. It opens on the main window too.
- Shortcuts work from every window, and the mouse wheel over the main window changes the volume.
- Click a line of synced lyrics to jump the song there.
- A What's new window after each update, and Copy diagnostic info for bug reports (right-click → Help).
Better
- Long playlists fill in many times faster, in the playlist and in the Library.
- The playlist's total time counts every track.
- A song is never listed twice in the playlist.
- Cherry, Amber and Emerald now color the equalizer and balance too.
- The Library retries by itself if your playlists don't load the first time.
Fixed
- After an hour or so of music the windows could crash to a "!" page.
- In long playlists some songs got stuck on "Failed to load" or "loading…" and wouldn't play.
- Picking a new song while one was playing could load it twice.
- Lists you saved looked empty in the Library.
Spotiamp+ 0.7.2
A feature-and-fix round: an album art window, type-to-find in the library, windows that heal themselves, and clearer local-file handling.
New
- Album art window. Shows the current track's cover, framed to match your skin, dockable and resizable. Open it from the playlist right-click menu, Windows tab, "Album art".
- Type-to-find in the library. Start typing in the library and it jumps to the first track whose name (or artist) matches. Works with any alphabet, ignores accents, and shows what you've typed in the header.
Fixed
- Windows no longer get stuck on an error screen. After a long idle or a sleep, a window could come back as a big "!" error page until you restarted the app. Now it reloads itself on the spot.
- Local files that fail now tell you why. A file that can't be opened or decoded shows the reason on screen instead of just stopping silently, and the details are written to the log.
- Dropped Opus and WMA from the file picker. The built-in decoder can't play those, so offering them just failed quietly. The formats that do work stay: mp3, flac, m4a/aac, wav, ogg.
- Lyrics and album art stay out of the way during local files, instead of showing the previous Spotify song's words or cover.
Thanks for the reports and ideas that shaped this one!
Spotiamp+ 0.7.1
New
- Click the time to switch elapsed / remaining. Just like classic Winamp, clicking the time readout flips between time played and time left (shown with a leading minus).
- Local files are remembered across restarts. Files you add now come back in the playlist after you relaunch, in order, mixed with your Spotify tracks.
Fixed
- Local files that played silently and stopped on some setups. The player was forcing the file's exact sample rate onto your audio device; if the device could not do that rate, the stream failed and the track just stopped with no error. It now plays through whatever rate your device supports (resampling when needed), so local files work on more hardware. Failures are also reported now instead of silently stopping.
- The equalizer reopens where you left it. If the EQ was open when you closed the app, it comes back on launch, so a playlist docked below it lines up again instead of floating in the gap.
Thanks for the reports and suggestions that shaped this one!
Spotiamp+ 0.7.0
The big one: play your own local files — plus EQ presets you can save, a date-added column in the library, and windows that come back where you left them.
New
- Local file playback. Play your own MP3, FLAC, M4A/AAC, WAV, OGG or Opus files right alongside Spotify.
- From the playlist menu (right-click → List), pick Add local file(s)… or Add local folder… (a folder adds everything, subfolders and all).
- Or, with the player window focused, press O for a file picker, Shift+O for a folder.
- They land in the playlist as normal rows — mixed with Spotify tracks, with next / previous walking the whole list. Track name, artist and length come from the file's own tags, and the EQ and visualiser work on them too.
- Save your equaliser. The EQ could load
.EQFpresets — now it can save them too (presets menu → Save .EQF…), so a curve you like is yours to keep (and it's a real Winamp preset, usable in Winamp itself). - Library "Date" column showing when each track was added to the playlist, click-sortable like the other columns.
- Windows reopen on launch. If you had the library, visualiser or lyrics window open when you quit, they come back — same place, same size.
Improved
- The library, visualiser and lyrics windows have a cleaner frame that matches the skin's own colours instead of a fixed edge.
- The library's bottom bar (Play / Enqueue / Play all / +List) now matches every skin, including ones without a GENEX button sheet.
- The visualiser's window remembers its size, and Pin holds the current pattern instead of cycling.
Fixed
- Shuffle + "autoplay similar" now work together — a shuffled queue reaches its end properly, so Spotify-radio autoplay kicks in (it used to shuffle forever and never trigger).
Known issues
- Date is blank for Liked Songs and search results — a track's added-date only comes through for playlists; the liked/search list doesn't carry it yet.
- Local files don't survive a restart — they're added per session (the saved queue keeps Spotify tracks only), so re-add your files after relaunching.
Spotiamp+ 0.6.9
Spotiamp+ 0.6.9
Media controls
Your keyboard's media keys and your headset's play/pause/skip buttons now
control Spotiamp+ — even when it's in the background. It registers with
Windows' own media session, so keys go to whatever played most recently and
never get stolen from your browser or other players. (Free Mode leaves them
to Spotify, as before.)
30 → 50 visualizer patterns
Twenty new ones: real analysers, VU meters, a scrolling spectrogram, a
MilkDrop-style feedback mode, and more. Most patterns now leave motion
trails. Click the visualizer to cycle.
Skins finally fit every window
The library, visualizer and lyrics windows now match any skin you load —
not just the few that ship a GEN.BMP. Titlebars, frames and title text are
all keyed off the skin so nothing clashes, and the text stays readable
whatever colours the skin uses.
Usable volume
New volume curve — the whole slider works now, instead of everything
happening in the bottom 20%.
Also
Window frames match the skin colour · docking snaps cleanly when you resize ·
title text sits properly centred.
Install: download the .exe below, run it (SmartScreen → More info →
