Pelmet 0.2.1
Pelmet 0.2.1
Fixes:
-
Rapid hover out-and-in could leave the bar shut under a hovering pointer
until it left and re-entered — the hover reveal now re-arms when a conceal
lands with the pointer already back in the band. -
Smooth hide/reveal fades were silently disabled without Screen Recording
access (the rename dropped the old grant, and the app never asked). Pelmet
now asks once, the first time a fade actually needs it. Granting takes
effect after a relaunch — and it stays optional: without it, icons appear
and disappear without the fade. -
Exits start instantly: the hide cover is now pre-captured while the bar
sits revealed (mirroring the reveal side), instead of paying an ~70ms
screen capture before every conceal could begin.
Smooths the Nook → Pelmet update for existing users:
- The app now renames its own bundle from Nook.app to Pelmet.app on first
launch, before asking for any permission — updating in place no longer
leaves a mis-named app, and the Accessibility grant attaches cleanly. - Onboarding now warns updaters about the leftover "Nook" row in System
Settings → Accessibility: it belongs to the old identity and no longer
works. Remove it with −, then grant the new Pelmet entry. - The Accessibility prompt re-fires for migrated installs so the correct
Pelmet row is always registered.
If you already updated to 0.2.0 and Pelmet isn't hiding anything: remove the
old Nook row from System Settings → Accessibility, grant the Pelmet entry,
and relaunch the app.
