Changelog
Added
- Desktop launcher for solo and pool mining, with live logs and OpenCL device detection.
--firopow-network support for mainnet, testnet, devnet, and regtest epoch schedules.
- Optional UTF-8 solo coinbase messages, with a companion Firo daemon patch.
- Opt-in
--cl-experimental-inline OpenCL kernel variant.
- Checksum-verified Linux and Windows CUDA/OpenCL release packages.
Changed
- Improved CUDA and OpenCL work scheduling, nonce-range handling, low-difficulty behavior, and device recovery.
- Hardened Stratum and Getwork parsing, timeouts, reconnection, and asynchronous shutdown. Solo Getwork now requires a reward address.
- Protected API status access when a password is configured and redacted pool credentials from the unauthenticated HTTP view.
- Made
--cl-global-work control the OpenCL work multiplier instead of being ignored.
- Expanded FiroPoW, miner-state, protocol, API, GUI, sanitizer, and packaging tests.
Fixed
- Fixed mismatched FiroPoW epochs and invalid solo Getwork jobs.
- Fixed overlapping OpenCL scratch storage and generated-kernel paths containing spaces.
- Fixed Getwork socket lifetime, pool shutdown ordering, malformed coinbase UTF-8, and out-of-bounds unit formatting.
- Fixed current Linux and Windows toolchain compatibility and Windows CUDA runtime packaging.
Compatibility and validation
- Non-mainnet miners must select the matching
--firopow-network; mainnet remains the default.
- Solo Getwork requires
--reward-address.
- Coinbase messages are limited to 80 valid UTF-8 bytes, require the included patch for Firo 0.14.15.3 source, and are not supported by pools.
- When
--api-password is set, HTTP monitoring returns 401. Authenticate through the plain TCP JSON-RPC API with api_authorize.
--cl-experimental-inline remains off by default.
- Packages target compatible Ubuntu 22.04 or newer x86-64 systems and Windows 10/11 x64. They are unsigned and require host GPU drivers; CUDA packages require an NVIDIA driver.
- CI passed core tests, ASan/UBSan, ThreadSanitizer, package smoke tests, and checksum verification. No physical GPU execution, hashrate, or accepted-share testing was performed. The companion daemon patch's full rebuilt-daemon regression was not run in this workspace.
